Building a Long-term Care Claims advocacy company did not have a blueprint. We did not have a role model; we did not have a colleague to call when we needed help with technology or HIPAA compliance.
We are not an insurance agency, we are not a home care agency, we are not a care management agency. Yet, we support and oversee all of those on behalf of our client.
The mission started small with our focus to represent, protect and support our claimants during a season in their life that is fraught with loss of control in multiple areas of their personhood. I have always lived with a heightened awareness of perceived injustices for the vulnerable. My early education was focused on working with developmentally disabled children. It would make sense that any work I did would focus on the same, no matter the population.
The article “How Leading With Integrity Drives Business Success in a ‘Win at All Costs’ Society” [Inc.com, June 7, 2025] has affirmed the principles we value. It is wonderful to see such a great article affirming the necessity of integrity.
My staff and their development are the most important element to the growth of Jahnke Consulting Inc. They all lead with their hearts. They enjoy developing relationships with our clients and their families. We know the stories and the hardships that our clients and their caregivers are going through. When our clients are worried and anxious about paying for care while balancing the needs of their loved ones, we feel it with them. We know they depend on us to help them. Many days in our office we carry this too, and often it is not an enjoyable duty.
Each department at Jahnke Consulting Inc. places a high priority on transparency. Although we disagree strongly with insurance industry processes, integrity to the process, no matter the outcome, is foundational. We do not bend the rules to satisfy anyone. We know, in the long run, our community of caregivers, insurance companies, financial advisors and fiduciaries trust us to do what is right for our clients. Maintaining our reputation while seeking justice is foundational to our success.
As the article posts, leading with integrity is not naïve or ignoring competition, it is being true to your values, despite external pressures. We may be lone rangers for a short while, but I am certain over the long run, we will gather more with us on our journey to bring some dignity and humanity into the world of LTCi claim management and support.
