This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our incredible staff, the expertise of our 280+ clinicians, the guidance of our co-founders and board of directors, the generosity of our donors, and the invaluable support from our partners and collaborators. Most importantly, this milestone reflects the collective courage of the service members and veterans who have raised their hands and sought our mental health support.

Happy New Year Everyone! I’ve been pretty quiet here on social media but I’ve been working on something exciting! I’m delighted to share that I’ve recently welcomed an associate therapist to join my private practice. Karly, who had recently relocated from Sacramento to San Diego, is enthusiastic about building her caseload in this new environment. She will be working under my supervision and will offer the same level of high quality care and compassion!

I’m also extremely excited that Karly has a special interest in couples therapy which will allow us to expand the services offered.

Setting boundaries is an act of self-love and self-respect. It’s about knowing your limits and communicating them effectively to others. When you establish clear boundaries, you create a safe space for yourself and foster healthier relationships. Remember that it’s ok to say no and prioritize your own needs. You deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. If someone responds negatively to you setting a boundary, then this is exactly where a boundary is needed.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever found yourself overthinking? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Overthinking can be a challenging habit to break, but there are some effective strategies you can use to manage it. One of my favorites is challenging your thoughts. Overthinking often involves negative self-talk and assumptions. Challenge these thoughts by asking yourself if they are based on habit or fact. So often we think our thoughts are facts, when really they are just things we’ve told ourselves for so long they’ve become habit. And of course, once you’ve challenged the thought it’s always helpful to add some self-compassion!
