Our youth deserve safe spaces to be heard, supported, and understood—just like parents deserve support in navigating those connections.

Parenting and growing up aren’t always easy—sometimes youth feel misunderstood, and parents aren’t sure how to connect. With the right support, those moments can turn into stronger relationships and healthier communication at home.
Our Parenting Program creates a safe, welcoming space for both youth and parents to talk, listen, and grow together. We focus on building trust, improving communication, and strengthening family connections.

How We Support Growth Together
• Tools for better communication between youth and parents
• Activities that build trust and understanding
• Guidance on healthy routines and boundaries
• Support for stress, emotions, and mental wellness
• A safe space where both youth and parents feel heard

A healthy smile is more than just bright teeth. It’s part of your overall wellness. One simple tip from our dental team: Don’t rinse after brushing. If you’re using toothpaste for sensitivity or a prescription from your dentist, let it sit on your teeth so it can actually do its job. Just spit, don’t rinse. Small habit, better results over time

If you smoke, it can also impact your oral health, leading to oral health problems, such as oral cancer, gum disease, tooth loss, tooth staining, and bad breath. Free support to quit to***co and ni****ne is available. Call 800-300-8086 or visit kickitca.org/chat. KIC Quit Coaches are available weekdays from 7AM-9PM and Saturday 9AM-5PM

This Month, we hosted our Mammogram Screening Event in partnership with University of California San Diego (UCSD)

A special thank you to UCSD staff members Kathie, Dahlia, and Felicia for bringing their expertise and care to our community. Kathie, registered Nurse, provided on-site mammogram screenings, helping make preventive care accessible and comfortable for our patients.

Events like this reduce barriers to care and remind our community that early detection saves lives. When screenings are brought directly to trusted community spaces, it creates safety, trust, and empowerment around women’s health.

Our team remains committed to hosting health events like this throughout the year — making prevention easier, more accessible, and centered around community.
