Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at IWC Primary Care. 💐

Today, we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, wives, daughters, caregivers, and women whose love quietly carries families through every season of life.

In our clinic, we have the privilege of caring for military families, seniors, parents, and multiple generations from across our community. Through every appointment, every phone call, every difficult diagnosis, and every moment of healing, one thing remains constant... a mother’s presence, strength, and care.

Mothers are often the first to notice when something is wrong, the first to sacrifice, and the last to ask for anything in return. They carry families through uncertainty with grace that rarely asks for recognition.

To the mothers balancing work, caregiving, appointments, medications, school schedules, military deployments, and the countless responsibilities that come with caring for others, today is for you.

Honoring a Legacy. Investing in Community Health.

For nearly eight years, a physician-led Community Health & Resource Fair has quietly become one of the most reliable healthcare safety nets in San Diego; serving hundreds of families each month with prevention, education, and access to care.

On March 14, we gather to celebrate and sustain that work at the Legacy of Care Gala, an evening honoring Dr. Suzanne Afflalo and the extraordinary body of work she has built over more than 25 years in medicine and community service.

The evening will feature the premiere of a documentary chronicling Dr. Afflalo’s career, from her leadership as Chief of Family Medicine to her ongoing commitment to community-based care through the Monthly Community Health & Resource Fair. This film captures what consistent, physician-led prevention looks like when it is rooted in trust, dignity, and long-term presence.

The Legacy of Care Gala is more than a celebration. It is a call to invest in a model that works. A model that continues to show up for the community when other funding streams fall away.

We invite community leaders, partners, and supporters to join us in sustaining this essential work and honoring a legacy that continues to shape lives across San Diego.
