ANTI-DRUNK DRIVING CALL TO ACTION

As a father who lost both of my daughters Thera age 17, and Autumn 10 years old, to a Drunk Driver 20 years ago, it pains me to still see stories like this. You would think that the powers to be would have solved the Drunk Driving and Underage Drinking problem by now, Right?

Well, like most parents or family members who lost a loved one from this Senseless yet Preventable Tragedy I have been fighting to make a change. However, I am not funded with millions of dollars and I don’t ask for any funding.

We just need you! I want Millions of concerned, troubled and angry voices like yours to help us, Concerned Angels, pressure and hold accountable those who are on the front lines, your elected officials. Let’s turn anger into action.

You see we have developed a realistic solution and we need you to join in our fight to STOP the killing and injuring of our loved ones. Click the link below to see my story and then TELL me you want to help stop the killing and injuring and I’ll send you a simple step by step system to follow, then share this system with every person like you who wants to help put an end to Drunk Driving.

God Bless…

The following is an open letter we need you to send to all members of Congress, both Democrats, and Republicans, pleading for their help to end the mass murder and serious injuries to American Children that is a National Crisis hiding in plain sight. This open letter must be sent to all members of Congress by the victims and survivors of a drunk driving tragedy, and their many supporters. We ask each of you to personally read this attached letter and then help us get it to the direct attention of your member of Congress and your Senators to ask for their response. We will use social marketing to share the response you get. What we are asking for is reasonable. There is no acceptable excuse for a member of Congress not to respond and tell us their position and if they are willing to help save lives and prevent injuries that stem from alcohol-impaired driving.

Victims and survivors are being organized by the all-volunteer self-funded organization “Concerned Angels.” (concernedangels.org) We assure you that we do no fundraising, nor will we accept donations from anyone or seek grants nor will we ever. It does not take money to combat drunk driving, it takes a well thought out strategy and we have developed one. It will work and we need your help to get it in place in every community across our nation. We have vowed not to quit until everything that is reasonable, effective and constitutionally correct is done to protect the American Public from the drunk driving tragedy. Please post this on your page and ask all in your email list to do the same. Together we can get this important issue addressed. FINALLY!

To all Congressmen and Senators

Back in the late 1980’s, a bipartisan Congressional effort encouraged and fueled by widespread citizen outcry was instrumental in getting drunk driving declared a National Crisis by then President George Bush.

On December 11, 1989, at a White House ceremony to “Combat Drunk Driving” the President said: “Drunk and Drugged driving is one of America’s largest health and public safety problems…The death of a child, any child, is one of the most awful wastes — one of the most painful experiences imaginable.” He explained that much has been done to address the issue since President Reagan appointed a Presidential Commission on drunk driving, but that “There is much more to be done.” He declared that drunk driving is a “National Crisis.” And the White House and Congress worked on this issue and only God knows how many lives were saved and injuries prevented since then.

Despite tremendous progress made since then, the “National Crisis” is still a “National Crisis” and remains a dangerous and daily threat to our children, family, and loved ones. It is totally out of control in virtually every community and legislative district in our nation. Drunk driving is no minor problem and must be forcefully and immediately addressed. We need to find out why this scourge on our nation remains killing our children and loved ones. Who is to blame and what can be done about it. How do we stop it? Concerned Angels has the answer.

Currently each year according to the reputable Federal Government statistics an estimated 10,000 Americans of all ages are killed in alcohol related crashes and 290,000 are seriously injured. Those statistics are staggering but do not tell the suffering of parents who lose children, or of children who lose parents to this totally preventable form of “Mass Murder” and insanity. Nor do the numbers begin to show the horrendous human suffering that drunk driving causes.

There will be many more victims every day with no letup in sight, Thus this appeal to you. There are American parents today — right now — who don’t know that they are soon to be victims, But they will be — today, next week, next month. A drunk driver will take their son or daughter and with terrible suddenness, they will be permanent victims of this crime as many of us are.
We know it and you need to know and think about it.

Therefore, we ask that you join the call for a “Congressional Investigation” to find out why drunk driving is killing and injuring so many of us when it can be prevented.

What or who is blocking effective and long overdue reform? You must find out if federal dollars, taxpayer dollars, are being wasted on programs that are not effective. Are the alcohol industry and its many friends putting their profits over our God given unalienable rights of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness? We say without reservation that is the case. It is without question or debate your responsibility to secure these rights for the American Public.

So, we ask you to take a stand on this national tragedy. Will you support our call for a Congressional investigation to get to the bottom of this problem? And if not why not? What will you do? Is there anything more important for you to do than to protect our children? We demand to know. And please ask your fellow Congressmen and Senators to join in this effort.

This campaign is being mobilized by ConcernedAngels.org. Our only agenda is to save lives and reduce injuries.

In a separate letter will we be asking our President to also address this issue. This is an issue that should unite the American public. Politics must not be allowed to stand in the way of protecting our children and families. President Trump says he does not drink and he lost his brother to alcohol. We believe that he should take a strong stand on this call to protect public safety in our homeland. We assure you that neither he or his administration had anything to do with this letter being drafted and sent to you. He is our President and he can do much to help. But a Congressional Investigation is also vitally important to our national security. Please read the attached letter that has been sent to Rep. Gowdy. It will speak for itself.

Please do the right thing. Victims and survivors of drunk driving crashes deserve no less. We await your response and will share your position positive or negative with all voters in your Congressional District through all social media.

Thank you.

Dear Representative Gowdy,

A tragic problem is ongoing in your Congressional District according to recent news reports of horrendous preventable deaths and injuries occurring in Spartanburg and Greenville and throughout South Carolina. The same thing is happening across America in virtually every Congressional District. No question that it still is a national crisis that demands urgent and immediate corrective action.
We seek your help to bring it under lasting control. We need your leadership to expose the true nature of the alcohol-crash problem not only in the 47th Congressional District but throughout America. We are not writing to other Congressmen or Senators yet as we believe you are the Congressional leader our nation needs to address this problem. We have the ability to trigger hundreds of thousands of letters and emails, perhaps millions, and phone calls to Congress from citizens who only want to protect their loved ones from being murdered by an alcohol-impaired driver, but we do not want to impede your office with an avalanche of citizens begging for your effective help. This one letter should suffice to get your attention and evaluation of our request.

Drunk driving is a widespread “crime wave” that will be getting worse because of failed and blocked attempts to address it as result of the interference by the alcohol industry. This can be documented.

Police officers are also routinely losing their lives to alcohol-impaired drivers while on duty as they try to protect the public from the threat posed by drunk drivers. Innocent small children, teens, young adults, parents, and grandparents are being murdered and seriously injured every hour, every day.

We wish to bring to your attention what can best be described as a continuing crime against humanity. It is the widespread and systematic constant murder of innocent children and adults in virtually every legislative district in every state in America and in your legislative district. This is because key members of the beverage alcohol industry, mainly the beer industry, and the distilled spirits industry and its many components have conspired and interfered with federal, state and local attempts to bring the pandemic of DUI driving under control. We have uncovered evidence that might rise to the level of a RICO violation.

We state this crime wave is due to the reckless disregard for regulatory standards to protect the public from alcohol and the extreme indifference to human life. It is a fact that the “alcohol industry” has corrupted many of our elected leaders and has corrupted and wrongly influenced and captured organizations that the public believes is fighting for drunk driving reform, but in fact, are actually protecting industry interests. Organizations such as MADD, SADD and even the National Safety Council have become part of the problem and the media has failed to grasp what is taking place.

We are writing to you because of your background as a noted and respected prosecutor who has worked on the drunk driving issue in your community and our respect for how strong you come across in your present position as a member of Congress and member of the House Judiciary Committee. Sir, we need your help for the American public and for the citizens in your legislative district in South Carolina.

We need you to give serious consideration for both a Congressional Hearing to investigate and call forth the leaders of the alcohol industry and the leaders of organizations such as MADD, SADD and the National Safety Council to get this matter fully exposed so that corrective action can take place. And we request that you call for the GAO to investigate federal funding that is being wasted as well as to document other discrepancies in the conduct of these organizations and the influence the alcohol industry has exerted to protect their profits at the expense of public safety. The blame for the drunk driving problem is usually put on the irresponsible person who drives while impaired and then kills or injures. We typically put those people in jail or prison. But bars and restaurants and the “alcohol industry” often escape being held accountable for their share of the problem and the cost to taxpayers. Taxpayers are in effect subsidizing their profits. Our health system is impacted when innocent victims run up millions of dollars in health care costs they can’t afford due to a drunk driving.

Our organization Concerned Angels Inc. is a totally volunteer organization working to save lives and prevent injuries. We do not solicit or accept donations or seek or accept grants from the government or private sector. Nor will we ever. Our funding comes out of our own pockets so we can have no conflicts of interest as we investigate and work to eliminate the leading cause of death of our children which we call America’s Greatest Tragedy. Our CEO is an experienced investigative reporter who became an activist.

We have figured out the solution to the problem but are up against the underhanded maneuvering of the alcohol industry and its many friends.

We are now at a point where we have figured out how to bring the problem under control but there are dishonest organizations that stand in the way because of unmitigated greed. Recently our President and CEO went to Chicago and met with the CEO/President of the National Safety Council (NSC). The CEO’s staff took many notes as we explained our “solution” and presented a solid approach that will significantly bring the drunk driving problem under the best possible control.
We explained that a thorough investigation and evaluation into how drunk driving is handled in each county and city to uncover all flaws and deficiencies including missing policies and procedures that must be done in every community, corrections made and then followed by the adoption of a comprehensive uniform code of evidence-based standards, and best management practices using available technology community by community, city by city, is the only thing that will work. This code must address all aspects of alcohol policy, enforcement, adjudication, prevention, education, and treatment. The “Code” in concept is like the Uniform Fire Code and is subject to review and if not followed will result in financial consequences to the County or City that is out of compliance.

The lives of our children depend upon this logical approach. but when the meeting ended we were told by the CEO that she does not have the “bandwidth” or room on her plate to help. This attitude caused us to research the NSC. We found that the CEO is paid more than the President of the United States and that the problem is growing worse under her “leadership” and in her previous position as Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board made many statements to the media over the years that have proved to be nothing more than PR hype. She continues to do the same in her CEO position with the NSC. Part of what she told us and we observed demonstrated her lack of compassion for victims that have been impacted by this deadly issue.

We found, (see attachments) that the NSC which was chartered by Congress about 100 years ago is failing to achieve it mission and the problems are getting worse. The NSC gets government funding and we ask that you request the Government Accounting Office (GAO) to investigate this funding and evaluate the programs they have. Also, we found on form 990s that a trustee has been personally paid millions for a questionable program over the past and currently a Member of their Board of Directors was paid $700,000 in 2015 which must be questioned.

We recognize that people have a right to consume beverage alcohol so long as it does not put the public or themselves at risk of death and injury. Our approach will save lives and prevent injuries, something we have a track record of doing. And I have a track record of getting widespread bipartisan congressional support for a project of this nature.

Sincerely,

Sandy Golden, CEO
