Here at Communication Lab, we strive to be creative in our approach to helping individuals with autism gain the skills to self-regulate, communicate effectively and be independent. It is our top priority to provide parents with the tools needed to ensure all skills learned during our Direct Care sessions are able to be implemented into your family’s daily lifestyle! Included with our personalized ABA care plans, we also provide Caregiver Coaching sessions that include sharing regular updates on your child’s progress as we troubleshoot challenges together. The holidays are about connection, care, and community 🤍

This year we are thrilled to announce we’ll be teaming up with Feeding San Diego and Care House for a Holiday Drive supporting families in need. From toys to toiletries, and everything in between, every item donated helps us uplift local families in a meaningful way.

🦉✨ Our Exploration Lab social group stopped by the clinic for our monthly craft day! This month’s project — owl puppets! 🎨👐 We practiced following multi-step directions, using our inhibition skills, and communicating while sharing, taking turns, and working together. Such a fun way to build creativity and connection!

Fall fun is in full swing!

Our Exploration Lab took their community-based social group to the Goff Family Pumpkin Patch, where they worked together on a fun teamwork activity to reach their shared goal! 🍂 We love fall for the unique opportunities it brings to lean into seasonal, hands-on experiences. We’re already looking forward to our November and December holiday-themed outings! 🎃🤎

No outdoors, no problem! Let’s be honest — we love our sunny San Diego days and getting outside as much as we can, but when it rains, there’s nothing to do but pivot… and pivot we did! ☔️ With the help of our amazing Occupational Therapist, Angelica Smith, our little beakers in the ELP program explored three different obstacle courses — each focused on unique sensory components for group movement. It’s safe to say we had an absolute blast! 💪🌈

✨ Meet Chrissy Ainger! ✨
Chrissy has been an incredible part of our team for almost two years, bringing over five years of experience and so much heart to Communication Lab! Thoughtful, talented, and endlessly supportive, she cares deeply about the progress of every kiddo she works with.

Chrissy approaches every case with flexibility and creativity, finding ways to connect with all kinds of learners—and no matter who she’s with, she makes magic happen. She’s especially admired for using her clinical expertise and hands-on experience to support some of our kiddos with the highest needs.

On top of all that, Chrissy is currently pursuing her Master’s in ABA to become a BCBA—we couldn’t be more proud to cheer her on in this next chapter!

We’re so lucky to have Chrissy on our team!

✨ Meet Jayden Moses! ✨
Mr. Jayden has been an incredible addition to our team since moving to San Diego from Virginia. He’s beloved by clients and families alike, known for his steady, calm presence (even his voice is therapeutic!).

Outside of the clinic, Jayden has been busy exploring San Diego, trying new restaurants, and soaking up all the experiences the city has to offer—to top it off he’s also pursuing his Master’s in Psychology! Jayden, we’re so lucky to have you on the team, thank you for everything you do!

Meet Angela Garcia Machain — a talented and thoughtful behavior therapist who’s been part of our team for just over a year. She brings a calm determination and genuine care to every session, always ready to support in meaningful ways. She also goes above and beyond for her kiddos by creating new activities and putting her natural art skills in play during her sessions.

In her free time, Angela spends her free time hiking local trails and exploring tide pools. Her deep understanding of the work comes from more than just training — it’s personal, and it shows in the way she connects with the families she serves.

Introducing Communication Lab

We built Communication Lab to provide tools for caretakers to build a connection with their child so they can freely express themselves and be independent.

We believe that communication is the key to opening endless possibilities. A strong connection is a foundation and gateway to meaningful relationships. We built Communication Lab to provide tools for caretakers to build a connection with their child so they can freely express themselves and be independent.

Establishing a connection with a child with autism can be difficult. Our focus is on improving all aspects of life for families that we work with. We empower caregivers by providing tools to manage any situation through direct care, oversight, and supervision of children and therapists, caregiver coaching and consultation, and conduct analysis-based assessments.

Our vision is based on the collaborative relationship between our Communication Lab team and the families we serve. We choose to be scientific and meticulous in our approach which allows us to build new behaviors that will lead to improved communication, a strong connection, and a deeper understanding between caregivers and their children. Life should always be fulfilling and rewarding.
