We wrapped up another incredible NFAR Race for Autism on April 11!

Tens of thousands came together at Balboa Park for a powerful day of autism awareness, acceptance, and community during the 5K walk/run and resource fair.

Thanks to your generosity, we were proud to contribute toward the event’s $100,000+ total through donations and our charm sales - keychains, pens, and lanyards.

To everyone who joined our team, donated, or supported our sale: THANK YOU. Your support truly means everything to us.

The Stein Superstars made their mark - we definitely left our footprint!

See you next year!

In celebration of National Public Health Week, we’re excited to highlight one of our newer programs: Care Connect.
Care Connect provides free support to adults, children, youth, and families in San Diego County who have complex medical and social needs. This service is available to any individuals or families enrolled in a qualified Medi-Cal plan who may be experiencing challenges such as homelessness, mental health or substance use needs, involvement in child welfare, or pregnancy/postpartum risks.
Through Care Connect’s Enhanced Care Management (ECM) services, our team helps coordinate care - connecting participants with doctors, healthcare providers, and vital community resources.
You can also meet our Care Connect team in person! Our staff regularly participate in health fairs across San Diego County and will be tabling at the UCSD AMSA’s 15th Annual Health Fair on April 11.
Stop by, say hello, and learn how Care Connect can support you or your loved ones.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are proud to shine a spotlight on one of our own - Jemma Samala - who has achieved an incredible milestone this March.
Jemma, Vista Hill’s dedicated Administrative Assistant to the CEO, has been honored not once, but twice with the prestigious recognition of Woman of Distinction. Both the City of San Diego and Senator Brian W. Jones have recognized Jemma for her outstanding contributions, commitment, and impact.
We are truly grateful to have Jemma as part of the Vista Hill team and celebrate her achievements with pride.
Congratulations, Jemma, on this remarkable accomplishment!

March is National Reading Month, and our Friends of Vista Hill team is fully immersed in their books! From leadership books to page-turning mysteries, everyone has something they can’t put down.
I’m sure our resident speed reader, Jemma, would agree—there’s nothing better than getting lost in a great book.

We live in an always-on culture where notifications, news feeds, and endless scrolling compete for our attention. Over time, that constant stimulation can erode our ability to focus deeply, listen without multitasking, and feel genuinely present with the people around us.

That’s why initiatives like Global Day of Unplugging matter. Observed each year, it invites people to step away from screens for 24 hours and reconnect with what often gets sidelined—face-to-face conversation, quiet reflection, rest, creativity, and community.
