This is biology.

When your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, your body has one job. Keep you alive. Not conceive. Not carry. Not heal.

Just survive.

And your nervous system stays there when you're spiraling after every negative test. Monitoring every symptom. Researching at 2AM. Believing your body is broken.

It stays stuck even harder when you're also dealing with histamine intolerance, MCAS, mold, Lyme, PCOS, endo, anxiety, Long Covid, or chronic fatigue.

These aren't separate from your fertility struggle.

They are the reason. Part of it at least.

Your nervous system can’t tell the difference between something that's happening right now and something you're replaying in your mind.

So if you're retelling the story of what happened to you — the failed cycles, the loss, the diagnosis, the relationship wound, the thing that broke you — 50 times a day...

Your nervous system is reliving it 50 times a day.

And then you wonder why your body won't calm down. Why your symptoms won't improve. Why you can't seem to move forward no matter how hard you try.

It's not just what you're doing.

It's what you're thinking.
It's what you keep replaying.
It's the story you keep telling.

The retelling isn't processing. It's reliving. And your body is paying the price for it.

This is one of the most important things I will ever say to you on this journey.

Choosing gratitude when you're going through something hard doesn't mean you're grateful it happened.

It doesn't mean you're pretending everything is fine. It doesn't mean you're spiritually bypassing the pain. It doesn't mean you're slapping "everything happens for a reason" on top of real suffering.

When my son was in a horrific accident with a tractor trailer — one that by the grace of God all four of them survived — I was not grateful that it happened.

I was not grateful his back was broken or that his life was at risk.

But I was profoundly grateful for what still remained.

That they were all alive. That they would all walk again. That they would all go on to live normal lives.

That's what gratitude actually is.

Not pretending. Not performing. Choosing where you place your attention when everything around you feels like it's falling apart.

And that choice? It changes everything — including what your nervous system is able to do.

My old Fiat X-19 looked cool, but it was a total piece of s**t.
Only cost me about $1150. And it was ‘cheap’ in every sense of the word.
Except it cost me a hell of a lot more than money.
It cost me time and a hell of a lot of stress.
The battery died constantly.
The headlights were dimmer than candles.
And if I drove it more than 5 minutes? Forget restarting it.
The “cheap” mechanic I trusted?
He never actually fixed a thing.
I eventually found all the parts I’d paid for still sitting in the trunk — unopened.

And THAT is exactly how most people are treated for chronic symptoms.
Surface-level fixes. Band-aids on broken engines.
Nobody looking under the freaking hood.
Most people treat their health like I treated my second car.
Looking for cheap, quick-fixes.
And it’s costing them way more than they think.

Our thoughts are more than passing ideas; they are commands to our biology. Science has shown that our habitual thoughts shape our brain and, over time, our physical health. Negative thoughts can become addictive patterns, constantly firing stress responses that keep the nervous system stuck in survival mode—making true healing nearly impossible.

I’ve seen so many people sabotage their healing with mindset alone. I did it to myself along my own struggles with chronic health issues, and sadly, as a su***de widow, I watched my late husband do it as well.

Supplements, diet, and exercise are powerful tools, but they can’t outwit the instructions you deliver to your DNA on repeat through your thoughts. Breaking free from these patterns isn’t just a mindset shift; it’s a biological necessity. By consciously choosing thoughts and FEELINGS that support healing, we begin rewiring our brains, calming our nervous system, and creating a new foundation for health. đŸ’«
