In case you missed my stories yesterday, I talked about the 3 B's you can focus on as you close out 2020 and prepare to enter the new year. Here's a brief rundown:
BASICS: These are the basic steps you can take to sustain your physical health. They include things like staying hydrated, eating food that nourishes your body (in between holiday treats), and making sure you are getting plenty of good, restorative sleep. And don't forget the big one for 2020...WASH. YOUR. HANDS.
BOUNDARIES: Make sure you take a minute to reflect on your boundaries before you are in situations that you need to establish. Sometimes, being put on the spot by friends/family can hinder our ability to say what we mean and mean what we say. Now is the time to think about who you are comfortable spending time with and how you would like to spend that time. Also keep in mind that it is up to you which holiday traditions you continue, adjust, or scrap altogether. And lastly, just as important as it is to know your own boundaries, it's important that we respect those of others. We are all doing the best we can and making decisions based on what is best for ourselves or our families.
BUDGET: Now is the time to stick to or create that holiday shopping list if you haven't already! Shopping with a detailed list will help keep you within your budget. Give yourself grace in knowing that what you can afford to purchase this year may be quite different than last. It's been a painful year for many and you aren't alone. Spending outside of your means this month can lead to additional stress and paying off debt for many, many months into 2021.
I hope you found these helpful as you close out your year! Let me know if there is something simple you are intentionally doing to end the year on a high note. Stay healthy, friends!
