I have a couple of weekend morning appointments available! I know how overwhelming it can be to work/take care of family and still find time to meet your own needs. These appointments are perfect for those who work unique hours or shift work.

Eeek! This is any easy one to forget. We are often so busy protecting our own peace that we may forget others are trying to do the same. We're all just out here trying to do the best we can! Respecting the boundaries of others is a really great place to start if you want to ensure yours are treated similarly. We don't have to agree or even understand someone else's boundary in order to respect it. ❤️

Of all the things I need to teach my babies, the habit of finding beauty everywhere is one of the most important. I love a good sunrise and am thankful to be an early riser so I don’t miss many of them. There’s something about staring at the sky (day or night) that just really helps keep things in perspective. If you caught all of this pretty this morning, tag me in your pictures! I would love to see! ❤️

I too need this reminder during times like these. Taking a break from the news doesn't mean you don't care or aren't taking things seriously. It simply means your brain needs time to process all that you are taking in and attempt to make sense of it all. So take a few hours (or the rest of the day) away from the headlines. I promise they’ll still be there when you get back. ❤️

In case you missed my stories yesterday, I talked about the 3 B's you can focus on as you close out 2020 and prepare to enter the new year. Here's a brief rundown:

BASICS: These are the basic steps you can take to sustain your physical health. They include things like staying hydrated, eating food that nourishes your body (in between holiday treats), and making sure you are getting plenty of good, restorative sleep. And don't forget the big one for 2020...WASH. YOUR. HANDS.

BOUNDARIES: Make sure you take a minute to reflect on your boundaries before you are in situations that you need to establish. Sometimes, being put on the spot by friends/family can hinder our ability to say what we mean and mean what we say. Now is the time to think about who you are comfortable spending time with and how you would like to spend that time. Also keep in mind that it is up to you which holiday traditions you continue, adjust, or scrap altogether. And lastly, just as important as it is to know your own boundaries, it's important that we respect those of others. We are all doing the best we can and making decisions based on what is best for ourselves or our families.

BUDGET: Now is the time to stick to or create that holiday shopping list if you haven't already! Shopping with a detailed list will help keep you within your budget. Give yourself grace in knowing that what you can afford to purchase this year may be quite different than last. It's been a painful year for many and you aren't alone. Spending outside of your means this month can lead to additional stress and paying off debt for many, many months into 2021.

I hope you found these helpful as you close out your year! Let me know if there is something simple you are intentionally doing to end the year on a high note. Stay healthy, friends!

Just because it's the end of the week doesn't mean you’ve missed your chance. Society tends to give the spotlight to Mondays when it comes to starting fresh, taking the leap, or trying something new. Don't let this stop you! Any day is a good day to start your new beginning. So whether it's scheduling your very first counseling session, improving your self-care, or even organizing your closet, just start. Your happiness and future best self shouldn't have to wait for Monday.

Maybe it's just me (I tend to think deeply regarding things of this matter), but I received this notification while I was out walking with my kids this morning. Why am I telling you about a sale on matching pajamas? Because I immediately was rubbed the wrong way by its message. I believe words have meaning. Words hold power and influence. Now, don't get me wrong; I enjoy and cute family photos just as much as the next person, but the intended or unintended message behind this is troublesome to me. For those of you who may have already seen this notification please know this:

-Holiday tradition should come from a place of joy and fulfillment, not social media obligation
-Picture likes do not equate to holiday joy
- If it takes away from your peace of mind and adds to your stress, avoid it as much as possible
-Matching outfits are not required for "photo-ops"

If you (and your family) enjoy participating in matching outfits, great!! I absolutely hope you participate and I can't wait to see the pictures if you choose to share them. Heck, I haven't even decided if we will. (Do they make holiday nursing tanks?!) I just felt this time of year is already so stressful for so many and a message like this from a behemoth of a retailer might only increase that feeling of, "Ughhhhh I have to do that too?!" So in case someone feels they need permission, here it is: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE MATCHING PAJAMAS TO HAVE WONDERFUL HOLIDAY MEMORIES.

What about you? In the flood of advertising we are all subject to this time of year, have you received any messages that didn't sit well with you? Which traditions are bringing you the most JOY this holiday season? We have young children so I am always open to hearing and sharing new ideas!

It's Monday and I'm sure someone out there needs to hear this. We are humans. We are capable of feeling many emotions at once. We are allowed to feel exhausted and overwhelmed while at the same time being thankful for the health, and happiness of our children. There is room for it all.

Additionally, you are probably feeling like good parenting is hard...because it IS hard. ❤️
