Leading the Charge Highlights 🔄

April 16 was a full one for our California team.

It was a day of real conversations—listening to different perspectives, sharing experiences, and talking honestly about what support looks like in practice for individuals with IDD.

The theme, Action to Vision, felt grounded in that sense. Not just ideas, but how those ideas actually take shape in day-to-day work.

Thank you to Nevin Dursun our Executive Director – West Region, for representing that perspective so clearly.

And thank you to the The San Diego Regional Center for creating a space that brought the right people together in a meaningful way.

For OneWell, this is always the focus:
keeping support centered around the individual, and staying connected to the communities we’re part of.

We’re still smiling thinking about this one!

Our CA team joined the Race for Autism 🏃‍♂️—and it honestly turned into one of those days you don’t forget.

It wasn’t just about showing up for Autism Awareness Month. It was the people, the conversations, the energy… everything felt so real and so alive.

We got to connect with the community in such a genuine way, share moments, laugh, and just be present together. It was colorful, a little emotional in the best way, and genuinely made us so happy.

Autism Awareness Month deserves more days that feel exactly like this!💙

Nuestro equipo de CA se unió a la Race for Autism 🏃‍♂️—y sinceramente, fue uno de esos días que no se olvidan.

No se trataba solo de estar presentes por el Autism Awareness Month. Fueron las personas, las conversaciones, la energía… todo se sintió tan real y tan vivo.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de conectar con la comunidad de una forma muy genuina, compartir momentos, reír y simplemente estar presentes juntos. Fue colorido, un poco emotivo en el mejor sentido, y realmente nos hizo muy felices.

From Action to Vision—And What Happens In Between🔄

On April 16, we’ll be in San Diego for Leading the Charge—a space where ideas don’t just stay ideas, but begin to take shape in real, everyday impact.

Hosted by DDPN in partnership with San Diego Regional Center, this one-day event brings together providers, leaders, and professionals committed to strengthening support systems for individuals with IDD—especially during critical transition stages.

This year’s theme, “Action to Vision,” speaks to something essential:how intention becomes practice, and how meaningful support is built through the decisions we make every day.

We’re proud to have Nevin Dursun, Director of West Coast Operations, bringing a regional perspective shaped by hands-on leadership—and Andrea Gamboa, IDD Manager, whose work in San Diego reflects a deep, day-to-day understanding of the individuals and families we serve.

Their presence reflects what matters most to us: staying close to the community, listening carefully, and contributing in ways that are practical, thoughtful, and human.

We said “let’s celebrate Easter”… and somehow it turned into paint on hands, snacks on repeat, and a surprisingly competitive egg hunt 🐣

Yesterday at our San Diego and Orange County offices, eggs were found (some quicker than others 👀), artistic skills were confidently questioned, and the whole space just felt lighter.

More than anything, it was seeing the individuals we support and our teams all together—laughing, creating, enjoying something simple without overthinking it. Not perfect, a little messy, but exactly the kind of moment you don’t plan… and end up loving anyway.

Safe to say… Easter was well spent. Happy Easter from our CA teams 💛

Across California, in the moments that matter✨

Over the past few days, we’ve been out across California—moving from one community to another, showing up at events, meeting individuals, families, and partners along the way.

Every stop felt a little different.
Different stories, different faces… but the same reminder each time: why being present matters.

We’re not there just to attend.
We’re there to listen, to connect, and to make person-centered care something that’s actually felt in real life.

These past few days were full of small but meaningful moments.
And honestly, that’s exactly how we want to keep showing up across California💙

Durante los últimos días, hemos estado recorriendo diferentes partes de California—pasando de una comunidad a otra, participando en eventos y conectando con individuos, familias y colaboradores en el camino.

Cada parada se sintió diferente.
Historias distintas, caras nuevas… pero siempre con el mismo recordatorio: lo importante que es estar presentes.
