Last year, Brigid spent a month volunteering in low-resource communities throughout the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico 🇲🇽✨ It was an incredibly transformative experience that left a lasting impact on her heart.
Many of the communities she worked with were remote, where healthcare infrastructure was limited and medical resources were scarce. Midwifery in these communities is not just about the physical aspects of birth, but also about understanding and respecting cultural traditions and values, as well as empowering women through education and emotional support 🤍
She returned home with a full heart, deep gratitude, and profound respect for the women she met and the midwives who continue to serve these communities with strength and compassion 🌿
