I canโt wait! Who is coming? The IAOM Conference in Hawaii is going to be AMAZING!!! ๐คฉ๐บ๐๏ธI am excited to have 1.5 hours to delve deep into this streamlined system to more easily diagnose contributing factors to OMDs and find easier treatment solutions. ๏ฟผ
A 3-System Model for Diagnosing & Treating Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders
Join Nicole Goldfarb, M.S., CCC-SLP, COMยฎ at the IAOM 2026 Convention in Honolulu as she introduces a practical framework for evaluating and treating Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) through three interconnected systems: myofunctional, medical, and dental.
OMDs are rarely isolated. When one system is disrupted, the others are often affected โ influencing breathing, oral posture, craniofacial development, and overall outcomes. This presentation provides a structured, streamlined model to help clinicians identify root causes, prioritize treatment, and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
In this session, you'll learn how to:
Identify the three interacting systemsโmyofunctional, medical, and dentalโand explain their roles in the development and persistence of orofacial myofunctional disorders.
Analyze clinical findings to differentiate contributing factors across the three systems when evaluating orofacial myofunctional disorders.
Apply a structured 3-System Model to develop comprehensive and prioritized treatment plans for patients with orofacial myofunctional disorders.
