Ashley Cox, M.A., Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Therapy with faith for teens, college and young women with intense anxiety & sadness using CBT & EMDR

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern with over 3 years of experience working with children, pre-teens, teenagers, and college students. I regularly address issues regarding family transitions, difficulty with parenting, and struggles with relationships. I integrate a strengths-based approach to bring the best out of each client and family as we work through challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, and self-worth. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, youth outpatient agency and church groups. I enjoy clients that are open and ready to seek change for the better. I believe that everyone needs to know that someone is in their corner...a safe place to feel heard. I utilize open communication, empowerment, and play to establish connection and foster growth. I specialize in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to explore the way in which reducing negative thoughts promotes healing. I am open to integrate the faith of the individual or family into the work that we do together. If you feel that your child or teen is in need of a safe place to explore and grow, I would be delighted to join you in the journey!

Have you ever tried to make something happen in what you thought was the right time? How did that work for you?

Whether we know it or not, sometimes we try to play God.
We try to make good things happen before their timing.
We try to force something before it’s ready.
We try to fix something that can’t be fixed in that way.

I would encourage you to pause in those moments and ask yourself a really important question – do I believe that God is good?

If you were really good, you would wait on his timing instead of forcing your own. We can have the best intentions and still take the wrong steps.

Trust that the Lord will make everything come together in a timing that is perfect. Whether or not it makes sense to you doesn’t matter.

Surrender and trust the process. ❤️

🧠💛 Your Mental Health Matters — Here’s Why

We tend to power through life’s demands, wearing stress like a badge of honor. But your mental health isn’t optional. It’s foundational. Here’s why it deserves your care and attention:

✨ Clarity & Focus – A healthy mind helps you think clearly, make better decisions, and stay grounded in the chaos.
💬 Stronger Relationships – When you care for your inner world, you show up more fully in your outer world—with empathy, patience, and connection.
🛌 Better Sleep & Energy – Mental well-being reduces anxiety and stress that can steal your rest and energy.
🛡️ Resilience – Therapy, mindfulness, and rest strengthen your ability to bounce back from life’s challenges.
🌱 Personal Growth – Mental wellness allows you to explore your goals, set healthy boundaries, and become the version of you that feels most whole.

You care for your body, your career, your home—your mind deserves that same devotion.

📍Need support? It’s okay to ask for help. Therapy is not just for crises—it’s for growth, healing, and clarity.
