It’s with such a heavy heart that I share the unexpected passing of our sweet pup, Puddles. While he wasn’t in our sessions because of his obsession with herding fast moving people and things, he played one of the most important roles at Sunrise: regulating me, the human behind this mission.
Puddles always reminded me and will continue to remind me to pause, to breathe, to walk, to rest. He anchored me through the highs and lows of building Sunrise Therapies, helping me stay grounded so I could show up fully for the families and therapists we serve.
If you’ve been on a virtual call, attended a webinar, or watched our instagram lives, you’ve probably seen him pop up onto my pink guest bed at least 1x. The amount of photos of our travel and nature adventures we’ve been on together are heart warming, but these of him consistently being here in my office with me are priceless. When not on the bed, his go to spot while I worked was laying right at my side, next to my desk. I truly believe and pray that he is laying there as I type this now, as I have no doubt the energy of a soul goes beyond the physical body.
His calm presence, endless love, and silent understanding shaped this work more than most people will ever know. And while he may not be physically curled up at my feet anymore, his impact will continue to ripple through every part of this mission.
💛 Thank you, Puddles, for holding space so I could hold it for others. You’ll always be part of Sunrise and me.
I am working to slowly, but surely, catch up on all the things, so if I haven’t replied to a DM, text, email, etc. please know it isn’t intentional and I promise to get back soon.
With gratitude and grace,
Erin
