As we all know, small businesses are being hit hard this year.
Behind every business, is a family who depends on it for income and often times that business is someone’s entire life’s work!
As of September, 97,966 small businesses have closed PERMANENTLY. I couldn’t find updated numbers for this post, but it’s safe to assume, the numbers are a lot higher now!
My hope is during the Christmas rush this year, people will turn to local businesses instead of the big box stores. I have heard from many business owners that they are depending on this holiday season to pull themselves out of the debt they’ve accrued this year or in many cases, to keep from closing permanently.
Big box stores like Amazon, Target and Walmart, have only profited during the pandemic.
When you do your holiday shopping this season, please consider buying from a small business instead. The reasons why are obvious. You just might be what keeps them from joining the permanently closed list.
To make things easier on you, I’ve put together a categorized list of all of the small businesses that I personally know or are friends of friends. Please look here for your Christmas shopping this year. We will keep adding to the list when we come across others. So be patient as we update the post as we are able.
