BioMed Simulation’s (BMS) mission is improving clinician performance through patient-free simulation. Standard of Care Improvement through training and increased proficiency of Perfusionists working in acute clinical care and Operating Room environments represents a significant cost and liability risk reduction for Health Services Providers. BMS’s simulation platform addresses these key needs for

providers. Our initial products include simulation modules for the operation of the Heart Lung Machine - Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) and the Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) machine used in long-term cardiopulmonary support. BMS’ platform roadmap includes other simulators, data analytics interfaces and guideline-based test patient scenarios to continually improve clinician performance and address Healthcare providers concerns.

A proven leader with decades of experience in MedTech and clinical education, Denise has been instrumental in shaping our strategy over the past 18 months as our Chief Commercial Officer. Now, she’s formally stepping into the CEO role to guide Biomed Simulation into its next phase of impact and scale.

Simulation isn’t the future—it’s the now—especially for ECMO and cardiopulmonary training. As the demand for experiential learning accelerates, we’re scaling with purpose and clarity.

We were excited to join CBM Lifemotion last weekend at the 50th Anniversary session of the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain & Ireland (SCPS) and the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists (CCPS) Annual General Meeting in Glasgow, Scotland!

During this milestone event, we supported CBM Lifemotion’s Cannulation Virtual Reality Workshop, exploring the future of simulation and the visualization of complex devices with hands-on demonstrations of innovative AR-based training tools like CALIFIA®.

The enthusiasm from the healthcare professionals who joined us highlighted the growing importance of simulation and continuous learning in advancing clinical practices.

At Biomed Simulation, our success is powered by a great team, and today we’re excited to recognize one of our standout team members, Alan Alba!

Alan plays a vital role on our engineering team, where he’s a pro at troubleshooting, maintenance, and testing CALIFIA® hardware. His attention to detail ensures that every CALIFIA® patient simulator is in perfect condition before it reaches our customers.

Recently, a new CALIFIA® user praised Alan’s work, sharing how impressed they were when unboxing their equipment. They said their CALIFIA® arrived in perfect condition, packed so well in its Pelican Case that there was no chance of damage during shipping. This is just one example of Alan’s commitment to quality and excellence in all he does.
