Last weekend, a group of our employees volunteered at Sharia's Closet – a non-profit that provides clothing for individuals and families in San Diego who are facing financial hardship or crisis. Their time was spent sorting, labeling, and categorizing donations for the organizations clients which includes victims of domestic violence, natural disasters, and human trafficking as well as unsheltered or unemployed individuals.

The Baltimore Banner published an insightful article titled “The bad news behind Baltimore’s remarkable decline in drug overdose deaths.” Our VP of Clinical Affairs Eric Dawson, PharmD was interviewed for the article and provided urine drug testing data from Millennium Health.

Baltimore’s overdose crisis does not appear to be ebbing, but evolving, according to interviews with experts. A mix of other chemicals — often less immediately lethal but dangerous in other ways — has grown increasingly common.

Drug and Alcohol Dependence recently published a study that details, for the first time, trends over time in the use of with or without a prescription in substance use disorder treatment settings, broadly and by specific diagnoses. This effort was led by Matthew Ellis of Washington University in St. Louis, School of Medicine with help from Millennium Health researchers.

A first of its kind study sought to identify trends in gabapentin use with and without a prescription in substance use disorder treatment settings, by specific use disorders, over time.

Our employees had the privilege of once again volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego where they prepared and served lunch to families staying at the facility. This was such a fulfilling event for our staff who always leave this facility feeling thankful and inspired by the opportunity to give back to our community.
