Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties HASD&IC provides leadership, representation, advocacy, & acts as advisory on behalf of 34 hospitals

The Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties (HASD&IC) was established in 1956 (then the Hospital Council) and is a non-profit organization representing 34 hospitals and integrated health systems in the two-county area. Members range from small, rural hospitals to large, urban medical centers; include not-for-profits (43%), district (13%), investor-owned (20%), university (7%), and city/county/state/federal (17%) facilities; and represent over 8,100 licensed beds. HASD&IC's board of directors represents all member sectors and provides policy direction to ensure the interests of member hospitals and health systems are preserved and promoted. The goals of HASD&IC include:
• To be a leader in shaping regional healthcare policies and systems to improve the health of our communities.
• To advocate for access to timely, appropriate and quality healthcare for all residents.
• To collaborate with other providers and stakeholders on initiatives to improve access to care and the efficiency and effectiveness of the local health care delivery system.
• To inform, educate and participate with our communities in improving health outcomes.

Patient Jim Stevenson is back to doing the thing he loves most — spending time in his orchard — thanks to a procedure offered at Sharp Grossmont Hospital.

A minimally invasive procedure relieved Jim Stevenson’s discomfort during swallowing, which was caused by a condition known as achalasia.
