Chiropractic care can help with Musculoskeletal Syndrome of Menopause

• Pain Reduction and Joint Function
• Manual adjustments and joint mobilizations can help improve joint alignment and reduce mechanical stress — which may reduce pain and stiffness in the spine, hips, shoulders, and extremities.
• Improving Muscle Activation and Movement Patterns
Chiropractic techniques that include proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and soft tissue work may enhance neuromuscular control and functional movement — promoting improved strength and flexibility.
• Supporting Structural Balance
Postural changes such as hunchback or round back and altered spinal mechanics often emerge with age and hormonal changes. Chiropractic care may contribute to improved posture, reduced pain, and enhanced mobility through targeted adjustments and therapeutic exercises.

Musculoskeletal Syndrome of Menopause describes the collective pain and dysfunction that women often experience as estrogen levels decline. This includes:

• Widespread muscle and joint pain (arthralgia)
• Stiffness and reduced mobility
• Loss of muscle mass and strength
• Progression of osteoarthritis and connective tissue dysfunction

More than 70% of women report musculoskeletal symptoms during perimenopause and post-menopause, and up to 25% can be significantly disabled by them.

Our Patient of the Month is Amy S.!

For more than 25 years, I struggled with persistent neck, mid and lower back pain, daily tension headaches, knee and hand pain, low energy, and feeling constantly out of alignment—making simple activities like sitting at my desk, driving around San Diego, sleeping through the night, or moving comfortably a challenge.

Wanting a natural, holistic approach rather than masking symptoms, I’m so grateful I followed friends’ recommendations to see Dr. Kris. Since beginning care, my pain has decreased dramatically—most days it’s gone—my neck mobility has improved, headaches are now rare, and I have more energy and better sleep. I stand taller with less tension in my shoulders and hips and feel stronger, more supported, and more capable—now lifting weights three times a week and walking regularly.

Dr. Kris’s approach is compassionate, thorough, and focused on true wellness—not just quick fixes. She is truly a gifted healer. I only wish I had started sooner—her chiropractic care has genuinely improved my quality of life, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking natural, lasting relief.

Yes! Recent scientific reviews highlight that diet quality is linked to pain and inflammation in chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Dietary patterns rich in anti-inflammatory foods (e.g., fruits, vegetables, omega-3 fatty acids) may reduce musculoskeletal pain and improve function.
