Did you know you’re drinking your water the wrong way?

Drinking ice water or cold water is not supporting your health. Why not make something as simple as water do the hard work for you.

Here are the top 3 things that hot water can change in your life:
1. Give the boot to bloating, gas pain, and hiccups: These are signs that Vata (the wind element) is high, and can quickly be remedied by drinking a few sips of hot water.
2. Supports excellent digestion: When you drink water that is much colder than your natural body temperature, your enzymes don’t function at their best. Hot water keeps your digestive juices at a cozy temperature so you can break down food.
3. Helps with constipation: Constipation is another sign of high Vata. Drinking hot water throughout the day, especially upon waking helps the body to keep things smooth.

Hot water is one of my first Ayurvedic recommendations: it’s so easy to do, and makes the biggest difference. Make the change so you can see the change. Ice water…Just don’t do it ;)

In my last post about , I got a many questions about drinking hot water and avoiding cold drinks. I thought I’d pass along the explanation…

When you eat food, blood gets shunted from your periphery (arms and legs) to the digestive system. This is so you can digest your foods and absorb your nutrients. Imagine if you dunked your hand in a bucket of ice water, it gets blue and cold with no blood flow. So if you drink that nice ice cold ice tea with your lunch, all that blood gets sucked away.

Also you have enzymes that help break down your foods that have an optimum shape and function best at 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37 c). Once again, if you douse your stomach with an iced drink, those enzymes aren’t able to break down your foods as well.

I’ve treated many with just over the years! So the next time you choose a drink, choose ! Hope you find this information helpful…

*****THE CHALLENGES OF MOVING TO INDIA******

Several things have “calmed down” but I’m really seeing now how my peace of mind absolutely cannot be attached to whether things are calm or turbulent on the outside. It’s always easier when everything isn’t collapsing in your life, but it’s becoming more and more clear to me that a lack of calamity cannot be my prerequisite for peace of mind.

I’m getting better (not perfect) at accepting that and accepting my new life here for the lessons it’s bringing rather than the comfort it’s bringing. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to understand what is peace and that’s now becoming my focus. In the process of learning that I’ll play many roles, including the director of an Ayurvedic Center and mother and wife, but the roles are starting to become secondary and the process is becoming primary. There’s going to be many more challenges and I’m still going to have my fluctuations but they’re becoming less extreme and shorter.

The other day at the diksha ceremony AMMA suddenly started handing out malas and a mob erupted. Many of the foreign devotees got overwhelmed and some even angry so they left the line to wait in the back. It was a little overwhelming, but we decided to just relax and let the mob just carry us towards AMMA. If someone pushes you, you feel pressure on your body, but your mind interprets a hug one way and a push another way, but from a sensory experience they’re almost the same. So we both just stayed in the middle of a mob of 200+ people and eventually made it to AMMA.

When AMMA saw us both smiling in the middle of the crowd, She laughed and then put the malas around us. I realized, it’s like that in the final steps towards God-you’re mobbed with pain, suffering, and challenges; but if you just relax and change your mental perception to shift a push into a hug, you make it to God and She accepts you smiling and laughing.

That’s my focus for now...to laugh more and cry less and surf the mob!

Here are three quick health tips you can start today!

1) Use Ghee instead of butter or margarine. Ghee, unlike butter, does not go rancid, so does not require refrigeration. Also people who are dairy intolerant can usually use Ghee since all of the milk solids have been removed. Finally, it’s packed with medium chain fatty acids, Vitamins A, D, and K2!

2) Use Himalayan Sea Salt instead of Table Salt or regular Sea Salt. Table salt (including many Sea Salts) have been stripped down to just sodium chloride. Whereas Himalayan Salt has as many as 84 natural elements- including magnesium, selenium, phosphorous, zinc, copper, and this list goes on.

3) Use coconut palm sugar instead of white refined sugar. You get that great sweet flavor, but it has a much lower glycemic index when compared to white sugar. Finally, unlike white sugar, Palm Sugar has trace amounts of vitamin C, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron and copper.

I recently received the following email. It's about an experience someone had doing . It literally made my heart swell wide open. I asked if I could share the message, so here it is:

Dear Dr. Chaudhary,

First off I would like to express my gratitude to you and The Prime. It has helped me tremendously over the past few months in ways I never thought imaginable. I immediately connected with The Prime book and knew I had to follow your protocols. My boyfriend agreed to do it with me as well and he is like a new person- in all the best ways. I've also recommended it to many people in my family and they are all the healthiest and happiest I have ever seen them.

Here is the most amazing part. After many hospital stays and mysterious illnesses, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and many co-infections in 2010. I had to drop out of college and get medical treatment. Over the course of a few years and many different doctors and practitioners- western, eastern, holistic etc. I was put on many different regimens. Nothing made me feel truly well. I was told by many doctors that I would not be able to have children due to the disease wreaking havoc on my reproductive organs and hormones for so many years. The hormone and fertility tests pointed to this also. Fast forward a few years, I followed my intuition and created a life for myself that was low on stress, and high on health and happiness. I have been living completely symptom free since 2015.

I started The Prime in October 2017 and have never felt better! I evaded the flu during the worst flu season in years, and never felt run down or remotely sick at all. My boyfriend is glowing and is a picture of health. We are doing the slow track and are ending Phase 3. We also just found out that I am 8 weeks pregnant! We are over the moon excited and I have a sneaky suspicion it was The Prime that restored my body to it's natural balance. Perhaps it can even help others who are having fertility issues as well.

Of course I am putting the herbs on hold now, but am continuing with the tea- which I love and I understand to be safe during pregnancy.
