January is National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Scripps patient Farrah Adams, now in remission after treatment for Stage 3 cervical cancer, shared her story alongside Jo Marie Tran Janco, MD, director of the gynecologic cancer program at Scripps Cancer Center and a Scripps Clinic physician, to highlight the importance of staying proactive with screenings.

“I think what we should do is not look at cancer as a one-stop shop for everybody,” Adams said. “No two journeys are the same. I think you need to look at your diagnosis, listen to your doctors and get a game plan for yourself instead of worrying about ‘what if?’”

Dr. Janco also shared how recent treatment advances are improving outcomes for people with cervical cancer. Learn more here: www.scripps.org/8086fb

This marks the first time Scripps Green Hospital has received this distinction, an achievement that is especially difficult for an entire hospital to attain.

We are also proud to share that all three Scripps urgent care centers were recognized for the third consecutive year.
