Dearest Friends,
I am truly sad to leave this beloved clinic for an extended period, as I travel to Germany for precision chemotherapy for triple negative breast cancer. I am also extremely hopeful about the treatment plan, and will likely be back at work within a few months. I’m overwhelmed by all the love and support this community has shown me. You all are helping me pay for extensive treatment not covered by insurance. Your kind words, lovely cards, and healing gifts have touched my heart more than you could know.

I have been spending time with friends, engaging in all kinds of healing therapies, and finding more peace and gratitude.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. I’ll be back before you know it!

Dear clinic friends,

I’m sorry to report I’ve been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I’ve posted my story within this GoFundMe. I will email and post updates including temporary closed dates, etc, as I embark on a healing journey and evict this cancer from my body! To all who are providing all kids of support, kindness, and help, thank you!!

Schedule early for the next few weeks; we’ll soon be in hiatus.

I’m also eternally grateful for all donations toward my treatment. Costs not covered by health insurance are estimated to be about $90,000. Part of the reason I’ve chosen this plan is that I’ll be able to keep the clinic and get back to work after a few months of treatment.

Acupuncture affects the nervous system, endocrine system, immune system, cardiovascular system, and digestive system. In traditional terms, acupuncture addresses blockages in the “qi,” or life force, and balances yin and yang. In this way, the body is treated holistically to move toward homeostasis… so that it can heal itself.

The lovely nap in a peaceful space is just the icing on the cake.

In the last few weeks, we saw a handful of people we hadn’t seen in months, or in once case, years!

These people had one thing in common… they said they were frustrated they weren’t getting better, then suddenly remembered how much acupuncture had helped them in the past. Without exception, they said they wished they’d remembered to come in sooner. If acupuncture isn’t part of your regular routine, it’s easy to forget how much it can help.

Here’s your reminder! We’re always happy to help at the clinic. (Also, nothing has to be “wrong” to get acupuncture… it helps promote homeostasis, and bring balance to your body). We hope to see you soon!

The needles we use at BCA are tiny, and we’ve practiced gentle needling a LOT (132,000 treatments and counting).

When we place in the very first needle in a brand-new patient, they almost always say:“That’s it?!,” with noticeable relief.

Different schools of acupuncture practice needle placement and stimulation differently. Here at BCA, we choose a gentle approach. And it works great. And then most people drift off into lala land while the needles direct the body to start healing.

We’re happy to make the whole experience as comfortable as possible, from sound machines to nice music, from a soft blanket and pillow to gentle needling. And besides all that, we’re pretty confident you’ll feel better after acupuncture. We’ve got you 💙
