Being an OT means I get to be a part of helping children explore what is meaningful in their life. Creating a naturalistic, home-based therapeutic environment opens up opportunities for occupational performance to unravel in the real context of where life happens.
This session wasn’t about picking guavas from my yard- it was about following my client’s lead, leaning into his self-identity and sparking joy in nature and in connection with one another.
Kids are our best teachers, if we take the time to listen!
