A post about love on this Valentine’s Day. 💕🐾
We said goodbye to our beloved therapy dog, Breezy, earlier this month. 🦮
Breezy was trained by Canine Companions for Independence as a puppy and then was matched with Kids on the POINT OT. They thought her playful demeanor, smaller size, and facial ‘smirks’ would benefit the children in a unique way to learn about social cues. Breezy taught us way more than that!
She could always be found laying in a sun-soaked spot on the floor eagerly awaiting the arrival of each child. She cozied up to parents in the waiting room, retrieved toys during therapy sessions, and was always by our side for community outings. She helped many children overcome their fear of dogs, taught us about nonverbal cues of communication, helped children to find their “power voices,” assisted with confidence building for skills like shoe-tying (when it meant a Breezy walk was the reward), and she always played the role of an interested audience member when children wanted to show her their newly-learned skills in O.T. 👟 ☀️ 🦴
To know you was to love you, Breezy ❤️
Your presence impacted the lives of all those who looked forward to seeing you each week. We are forever grateful for the joy you added into our daily lives. 🐾
❤️Rest easy our sweet, sweet Breezy❤️
