We’re so excited to relaunch our weekly lactation and infant feeding support group in a new, centrally located space — just down the street from our Mission Valley office.

This group is one of the most meaningful ways we support families during the postpartum period. It blends professional lactation guidance with real connection — a space where you can ask questions, feel heard, and receive compassionate support for your baby’s feeding journey.

Each week may include weighted feeds to assess milk transfer, latch and positioning support, guidance on how much your baby needs based on their weight and age, comfort measures for feeding-related pain, and time for open Q&A and supportive conversation.

The group is led by Valori Sharp, Certified Lactation Educator, Postpartum Doula, and IBCLC in training — and is supported by our entire SDBFC team.

🤍 Fridays | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (New Time!)
📍 Inside Align SD
2525 Camino del Rio South, Suite 300
San Diego, CA 92108

This is a free group, but registration is required. Space is currently limited to the nursing parent and baby due to room size.

We’re deeply grateful to Align SD for hosting this space and helping make this group possible.

We hope to see you there. 💛

🌿 Your Liver & Milk Supply – The Hidden Connection!
When we think about lactation, we often focus on the chest/breasts—but did you know your liver plays a key role in producing milk? 🤯 This powerhouse organ regulates hormones like insulin, thyroid, and estrogen—all essential for lactation. If your liver function is off (due to insulin resistance, PCOS, or gut issues), it can impact milk supply.

The good news? You can support your liver naturally! 💪✨
✔️ Eat liver-loving foods like leafy greens, berries, and healthy fats.
✔️ Move your body with exercises like walking, weight lifting, or yoga.
✔️ Support your gut with herbs like milk thistle & turmeric.
✔️ Keep chest/breastfeeding to help balance hormones long-term!

If you’re struggling with milk supply, you’re not alone! 💛 Robin Kaplan, Functional Nutrition Counselor, can help you create a personalized plan to support your body and optimize lactation.

📅 Book your one-on-one consultation today! Virtual sessions available.

Finding the Right Feeding Routine for Your Baby

Should you feed on demand or follow a schedule? It’s one of the most common questions parents ask — and the answer isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every baby (and every family) is different.

In our latest blog, we break down on-demand vs. scheduled feeding, including:
• The benefits of each approach
• How feeding routines can evolve over time
• Tips for navigating frequent feeds without burnout

✨ The goal isn’t perfection — it’s finding what works best for you and your baby.
