Each patient’s care begins with a five-point quantitative diagnosis, which means that the team provides the most comprehensive diagnosis available. They thoroughly assess symptoms along with every aspect that affects a patient’s mental health, including temperament, patterns of thinking and behavior, mental status, and physiological status. To round out their in-depth evaluation, the team performs DNA testing that guides precise treatment decisions. Once a detailed diagnosis is determined, an individualized treatment plan is created. Dr. Berlow provides complete medication management, while also offering the brain stimulation treatments that form the heart of this clinic. At the American Brain Stimulation Clinic, the team restores brain function using the most advanced technologies, including five kinds of electric brain stimulation, as well as deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), individualized frequency stimulation, and theta burst stimulation. As far as they’re aware, the American Brain Stimulation Clinic is the first and only center in southern California (outside Los Angeles) to offer frameless stereotactic neuronavigation technology and the first in the United States to provide TMS with the three newest and most advanced systems, MagStim®, MagPro®, and NeuroSoft®.
