Neurofeedback sounds complicated. We promise β it isn't. π
Here's exactly what happens when you come in for a session at San Diego Therapy Center:
Step 1: We listen first. Before anything else, we talk. We want to understand what you're experiencing β the anxiety that won't quit, the focus that slips away, the sleep that never feels restorative. Your story shapes your treatment.
Step 2: We map your brain. Small sensors are placed on your scalp β no electricity, no discomfort β and we measure your live brainwave activity. This gives us a picture of what's happening beneath the surface.
Step 3: Your brain gets feedback. You sit comfortably and watch a screen or listen to audio. When your brain produces healthier patterns, it receives a gentle signal β a reward. Over time, your brain learns to seek those patterns on its own.
Step 4: Your nervous system resets. Session by session β most people do 40 β your brain builds new, calmer baselines. Less reactivity. Better focus. Deeper sleep. More emotional steadiness.
There are no needles, no medication, and no side effects for most clients. Just your brain, doing what it was always capable of β with a little guidance.
