Have you tried Shampoo Bar?

I was very hesitant to try a shampoo bar considering the length of my hair at that time. I was pleasantly surprised with . Each bar is handmade with plants from my friend’s yard. They smell amazing and create a perfect amount of suds. My hair had been looking so drab from store bought products even though I was using pretty good stuff. I had a waxy build up according to my hairdresser. She has commented many times now on how soft my hair feels. The other great thing is that there is no plastic waste with these bars. They last quite a good while depending on how often you wash your hair.

Be sure to try them out next time you are in the clinic. I don’t think you will ever go back to another shampoo. Plus you will be supporting a local, woman business owner.

Check out to find out at which markets she will be selling her goods.

Have you found yourself waking up at 2 or 3 am unable to go back to sleep more often than not? Is it worse around your period? What has helped?

💤☾ Sleep can become a real problem during peri-menopause. Many women report having difficulty falling asleep but more often than not they have difficulty staying asleep.
We know that not having a good night’s sleep has a domino affect on the rest of life. You may have less energy to get through the day, get your work out in and accomplish the things you had on your list. You may be shorter with your children or your partner. It is just no fun for anybody. Honestly, it is one of those things that can have a negative affect on just about every aspect of your health and life.

🤍Acupuncture can help balance hormones that are disrupting your sleep cycle by calming the nervous system.

🌈Once your sleep gets regulated again, you will feel like a new person and you may find that a lot of health complaints tend to improve as well!

As we approach, what we call late summer in Traditional Chinese Medicine, we move into the time of the earth element. We are beginning to make our way out of being super social and outward to that more inward time of year coming up in the fall.

Earth element represents the mother, nurturing nature, spleen and stomach (digestion). Overthinking and worry can cause the earth element to become out of balance. Signs of an imbalance of the earth element can be digestive issues such as lack of appetite, loose stool and sweet cravings. Gynecologically speaking, imbalances make look like spotting before and after menstruation and/or very light or very heavy menstruation accompanied by loose stool. This is because it is the job of the spleen to take in our food and water and transform it into Qi and Blood while also containing the blood.

Care for your earth element by finding time to meditate in order to minimize overthinking, eat warm cooked foods and watch out for over indulging in sweets. If you are someone who worries a lot, try reframing situations and know that worry is just a waste of energy. I was just recommended the. book Ways of Seeing by John Berger. It is about art but can be beneficial to help you find different ways of seeing all things in life. Of course Acupuncture, Moxabustion and Herbs are a great way to strengthen your earth element and calm your nervous system.

A very large portion of us have experienced feelings of irritability every month a few days before our period. As we move deeper into peri-menopause and closer to menopause, these feelings can intensify. They may begin to start just a few days after ovulation as our hormones that are already beginning to diminish do their dance but with less balance than they once had.

Just after ovulation is when progesterone shines, however, because it is not as sufficiently in supply as it once was, we may feel the effects of estrogen with more intensity.

Here you are moving along through your days feeling rather even keel when gradually you begin to feel a shift toward your perception of everything and everyone around you. The some what annoying things your partner and children do are now like nails on a chalkboard. It is near impossible to shift your mindset and reframing becomes a constant necessity.

The more stress we have in our daily lives, the more these fluctuations may occur. At this stage. Acupuncture, particular supplements and herbs are a very important and effective way to manage the imbalances that are occurring at this transformative time in your life. Keeping a calm nervous system is absolutely essential and not always easy. Day to day life can be overwhelming and unpredictable. The constant go go go can be depleting.

Acupuncture offers your brain a chance to switch into the parasympathetic mode of rest and digest. It is one hour in your week where you have nothing to do but let go.

🌿 Unlocking Hormonal Harmony: The Digestive Connection 🌿

Did you know that according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), your digestion—specifically the spleen and stomach—could hold the key to unlocking hormonal imbalances? 🍃

🔍 The Spleen and Stomach: The Earth Elements In TCM, the spleen and stomach are not just responsible for digestion; they are also crucial energy centers. When these organs are functioning optimally, they transform food into Qi (vital energy) and blood, nourishing every cell in your body. But when their harmony is disrupted—due to poor diet, stress, or lifestyle factors—it can lead to a cascade of imbalances, including hormonal issues.

🍽️ Digestive Health = Hormonal Health The state of our digestion directly impacts our hormonal balance. When the spleen and stomach are weakened, they struggle to extract essential nutrients from food, leading to deficiencies that can affect hormone production and regulation. This imbalance can manifest as irregular periods, PMS, fertility issues, and more.

🌱 Nourishing Your Digestive Fire So, how can we support our digestion and, in turn, promote hormonal harmony? It starts with nourishing our spleen and stomach. Incorporating foods that are easy to digest, such as cooked vegetables, whole grains, and warming spices, can help strengthen these organs. Herbs, moxibustion and acupuncture can also be powerful allies in restoring balance to the digestive system and supporting overall well-being.

✨ Embracing Holistic Wellness By understanding the intimate connection between digestion and hormones, we can take proactive steps to nurture our bodies from the inside out. Prioritizing digestive health as a cornerstone of your wellness is an essential part of the way back to balance. 🌿
