Are you interested in how exposure to violence and current events (e.g., COVID-19, BLM, 2020 Presidential Election, etc.) in the media may influence various mental health outcomes? Help the CSUSM Trauma and Healing Lab examine these issues by participating in our Media and Mental Health study!

The 2020 Census population count is done once every 10 years but impacts our lives daily. Census statistics touch everyone from the old to the young, people of all incomes and backgrounds, and those in cities, suburbs and rural areas.

Many programs that use census data are the lifelines that communities are depending on today as they work to protect the health and well-being of their populations during the coronavirus pandemic.

These programs are feeding children even though schools are temporarily shuttered, providing health insurance for low-income people and those over 65, and supporting first responders.

Among these programs:

- Medicaid assistance under Title XIX, the largest federal program that uses census statistics to inform funding.
- The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps.
- The National School Lunch Program.
- Medicare.

THIS is why you should complete your census today if you have not done so already. If you need help, we at the Downtown San Diego Area Census Office are here with a local phone line. Call and see how easy it is to change your community for the better of us all.

Hi all. I am struggling to find either an IOP, a support group or a teen/young adult group that focuses on anger management. I have a 12 (almost 13 y/o) sweet female patient with Serious Intermittent Explosive Disorder. She is unable to control the 10-20 minute angry, violent and destructive episodes (triggers are small things like electronics) and sometimes cannot even recall many of the events during them. She has a mild comorbidity of ADHD but is an otherwise happy and healthy girl tested negative for ASD. The violence in the episodes is escalating and she, her family and I feel there should probably be a higher level of intervention aside from weekly therapy with myself and psychiatry. Does anyone have ANY information on programs that focus on anger for tweens or teens in the San Diego or even LA area? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
