Sorry to be a buzz killer…or a b***r killer…but this list is just as bad as the first, and just as common.
🥡Soy - it’s in your Chinese takeout, veggie burgers & post-gym protein bars & it’s a powerful phytoestrogen converting your testosterone to estrogen & causing man b***s. Debate as you wish but no food is more beneficial for testosterone production than pure BEEF.
♻️ Plastic Water Bottles - but they’re BPA free, right?! Sure, but what about the 35+ other chemicals identical to BPA that are leaching into your water? Especially in AZ where they’re stored in 100 degrees, the water in the these bottles is still laden with estrogenic hormone disrupters. I recommend using a home filtration system & stainless steel flask instead.
🛢️Seed & Veggie Oils - ironic that the only emoji for oil is a drum…These oils were in fact originally used as mechanical lubricants until the Ef Dee Ay learned how to manufacture them for human consumption. They are full of polyunsaturated fats (PUFAa) that reduce production of testosterone precursors. They’re hidden in almost all packaged foods so stay away from anything processed. When cooking, use grass-fed butter or TALLOW.
📺 Blue Light - Remember lack of sleep from part 1? Your devices are one of the leading causes to low sleep, and it’s not just exposure just before bed. Extended Blue light exposure throughout the day is shown to decrease testosterone production by way of sleep deprivation & cortisol disruption. Slip on blue light blockers and read a good book!
🚙 Air Fresheners - this applies to the Febreeze in your your gym bag too. Similar to cologne, these highly toxic duffle & dashboard decorations are loaded with phthalates, blowing directly in your face & soaking into your clothes, converting your testosterone to estrogen & causing neurotoxicity. Try Enviroscents room & home spray or Auto Sticks instead.
💊Acetominophen - that’s right, your saving grace when the kids are are being terrors, when work is a sh*t show, or when you’re suffering from a hangover. Tylenol literally shrinks your testicles (by 18%!) and significantly reduces testosterone (by 47%!). Try Magnesium Breakthrough or white willow bark instead.
