If you are training your team to make a QuickSplint, be sure to emphasize that the patient bites down all the way into the tray, so that the VPS will form around the dentition and be retentive. This is what makes QuickSplint so comfortable to wear at night – it is level with the occlusal table. After the VPS sets, trim excess material, check that the VPS filled the retention slots, and have the patient try it on for fit. Done in 3 minutes and ready for wear.

We asked our model to tolerate close ups of his teeth and discussed parafunction with him. Like most people, he was unaware of clenching/grinding at night. A little soreness in the jaw after a dental procedure is common, and most cases will resolve on their own. But for a percentage of patients, jaw pain won’t resolve normally.
