Other hours by appointment.

Please call for an appointment; we are currently booking 2-4 weeks in advance. Depending on the severity of the issue your pet is experiencing, we may be able to offer drop-off appointments for emergencies. Doctors are on call as needed. We provide general medicine and surgery, and dental procedures. Common things we encounter are dermatology issues, allergic skin disease, ear infections, gastrointestinal problems, and routine surgical and dental issues. We are not affiliated with any specific specialty practices, and we can help to secure the best match between you, your pet, and a veterinary specialist. Specialty referrals include internal medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, veterinary dentistry, behavior, cardiology, cancer therapy, and a host of others. For imaging such as X-Ray, Ultrasound, MRI or CT Scans, we utilize in-house equipment as well as traveling specialists to help aid in diagnostics. When specialists are necessary, our goal is to get your pet the best and most appropriate treatment... someone who does excellent work with whom you can relate well.

You’ve likely heard that humans have a daily fluid intake recommendation, but did you know that there are also recommendations for dogs? To find your pupper’s ideal water intake, you’ll need to know their weight. A dog should drink 1 ounce of fluids per pound of body weight. So a 5lb Chihuahua would only drink 5 ounces of water a day whereas a 110lb Great Dane should drink 110 ounces of water daily! It sounds like a lot of water, because it is! There will be some situations where a dog will certainly need more water than this equation indicates so be sure to contact us with any of your dog hydration questions.

Also known as the zoomies, both cats and dogs experience FRAPs, but different circumstances are more likely to trigger the behavior in one species than in the other. Feline FRAPs most often occur at dawn and dusk, though activities like grooming and using the litter box may inspire them at any hour. When does your pet have its FRAPs?

This common myth isn't entirely accurate! While some dogs do eat grass and may eventually vomit, studies suggest that they might actually be seeking out the fiber or simply enjoying the taste. Dogs are curious creatures, and snacking on grass could just be part of their natural behavior. Plus, it's important to ensure your pup isn’t eating treated or harmful plants while they explore! Keeping an eye on what your dog eats is key to their health and happiness. Always consult us at (858) 459-1516 if you're unsure about any behavior or if it becomes frequent!
