Today we laid our loving Edie to rest.

Her wisdom is timeless, her message simple: fear and love cannot coexist. Find love. And practice it.

We love you Edie and celebrate every moment shared with you.

Hello dear friends,

Today our dearest Edie left her earthly body. She slipped away with all the grace she lived with. Like an angel returning home. She passed away in the tender care of her family and dedicated team.

We have all been so touched by her life, and will keep her memory alive with our actions.

Please feel free to share your memory or a moment she touched your life.

From our family we thank you for your love and support of her life and work.

Edie, we send you on angel’s wings to your next journey. We love you. We will so dearly miss you. And we are so grateful to have been a part of your amazing life.

With all our love,
The family of Dr. Edith Eva Eger

On this Friday we wish you to find that light inside of you… and let it shine.

A few weeks ago Edie and I were spending a little QT with our new pup, Skippy. Edie loves dogs, and in fact dogs really love her! (Who wouldn’t! 😍)

Today try to share with someone (or some creature) that special love you have. Shine your light with no expectations … and see how good it makes you feel. I’ve watched Edie do this for a lifetime, and I aspire to do the same

In the second photo is Edie’s beautiful hands. Every day she is with us is a blessing and I love to hold those soft, elegant hands and feel all the wisdom they exude.

Shabbat shalom from all of us here at Team Edie.

Please keep our dearest Edie in your prayers ❤️

With love from Jordan + Edie

Today is Bela’s birthday. Edie and Bela had a deep and meaningful love, which even trauma and endless challenges could not undo.

Bela was a loved accountant in El Paso, and was known to create lasting relationships with his clients. He had a huge stutter, and would take a run up to start any conversation. But all of those who knew him best knew to wait patiently until he got the words out. Bela loved jokes and was always a total joy to be around.

He loved going to Juarez and buying papaya which we ate every morning with lime.

This loving and gentle man was born on the same day as Hi**er. It turns out we all choose who to be in this lifetime. Bela had much anger inside him for all that was taken and those he lost, but he turned to the light, becoming a force for love and unity in El Paso. He was known to have faithful clients who were Mexican, Arab and Jewish.

We miss you Bela and wish you a happy birthday ❤️

“That’s the thing about learning. You can know and know and know yet never reach the summit.
Learning is a rope that never touches the ceiling. I want that kind of climb - a never-ending ascent, a life in the sky.”

From The Ballerina of Auschwitz, Edie’s book for young adults readers. (Have you sent this to the young adult in your life?)

We wish this for each of you. A life of learning. Of reaching upward to a life in the sky.

Shabbat shalom. Keep our dearest Edie in your prayers.

Lots of love,
Team Edie

Today we remember the shared trauma that was the Holocaust. Yom Hashoa is a day of remembrance- for all those who were lost and for all those who survived.

Our dear Edie shares her story of dancing for Mengele in this beautiful video - created with her grandson Jordan Engle for a TEDxSanDiego event a few years ago.

Today we remember to find courage even in the darkest hours. Edie reminds us that courage will help us to be free of the anxiety, fear and frustrations that can consume our daily lives.

We love you Edie and thank God you were saved to share with us all your wisdom and love.

With love,
Team Edie

Also a thank you to NAJEEB SABOUR for his beautiful cello work for the piece.

Sharing moments with family has been one of Edie’s most precious parts of life. This image was from her great grandson’s barmitzvah last year.

And… Edie now has two beautiful new great granddaughters added to her family!

Today there is so much to be grateful for - and there is also so much to be afraid of.

As Edie reminds us, “pay attention to what you are paying attention to”

What are you focusing on? (Let us know)

Today we choose to focus on family and on love.

All our love,
Team Edie

“We cannot choose to have a life free of hurt. But we can choose to be free, to escape the past, no matter what befalls us, and to embrace the possible.”

What happened for you when you first read this line from The Choice?

Wishing you all a very happy Passover. Our dearest Edie is going strong though needs regular O2 these days.

This is a day she loves - and always retells the story of the Passover in 1944 when her father kissed the girls on their head - the night before they were taken from their homes and moved to the brick factory.

Indeed Passover is about change. It is about liberation. It is about being free in the mind even when we may be living otherwise.

May you all find some peace in this Passover and Easter season. Spring is a powerful time for growth and we are here supporting your bloom!

Lots of love,
Team Edie

Love this duo!

Katie has been working with Edie for the last 20 years and they do more than work together... they sing too!

Who makes you sing?

Send them some love and tag them in this video!

This one is for you Katie.

Spending moments with Edie is always a gift. We spent a special evening celebrating the coming holidays and birthday of her great grandsons ❤️

We would love to share your stories with her. If you have a moment to write a note to her here … we’ll be reading them to her over the next few days.

Lots of love and Shabbat shalom!
