Saccharomyces Boullardi: The Forgotten and Overlooked Probiotic.
It is common knowledge that, to heal, or maintain, a healthy digestive tract, you have to keep the digestive tract colonized with the proper bacterial organisms. Therapeutically, practitioners will supplement their patients with probiotics that contain these beneficial bacteria. Unfortunately, one organism that is often overlooked, by those same practitioners, is the absolutely vital probiotic, Saccharomyces Boullardi; especially in cases where antibiotics have been taken or one has been infected with the clostridium dificile bacteria. Saccharomyces Boullardi is not a bacteria. It is, actually, a yeast; a strain of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae which is Brewers Yeast. It is a natural component on the skins of tropical fruits like lychees and mangosteen. Where it is particularly powerful and essential is in the prevention and treatment of Candida overgrowth due to the consumption of antibiotics; an all too common and abused therapy in today's conventional treatments. S. Boullardi has also shown powerful benefits in Clostridium Dificile infection. Supplementing with S. Boullardi, for two to three months, is an essential strategy in restoring gut dysbiosis due to these above factors; especially in conjunction with a high-quality, full spectrum, bacterial, probiotic like our Gut Restore which contains FOURTEEN different strains of beneficial gut bacteria.
