Providing Therapy to Couples and Adults Although I work with a wide range of challenges, my specialty is couples therapy. I also provide therapy services for anxiety, depression, parenting support, and beyond. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs to help them attain the personal growth for which they are striving. I am committed to staying on top of the latest research as it pertains to mental health. I have worked in a wide variety of settings that have allowed me to cultivate my clinical skills in the following areas:
TREATMENT SPECIALIZATIONS INCLUDE: Couples therapy Depression and Mood Disorders, including Post-Partum Depression Anxiety (PTSD, Generalized Anxiety, Test Anxiety, Panic Attacks) ADHD Parenting Support Cancer Patients & Their Loved Ones Career Issues Stress Management Conflict Resolution Sleep Difficulties Grief & Loss Counseling Adult Children of Alcoholics My approach: I combine traditional talk therapy techniques with body-centered interventions that directly address the lingering neurological effects of your past experiences. I focus on integration, whereby I combine traditional 'top down' approaches like talking therapies with 'bottom up' approaches like meditation and mindfulness. I am trained in and use the following approaches: attachment-based therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, family-systems theory, play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and parent coaching. All of my work also includes psychoeducation. Where DID I learn about a neurobiological approach? After completing Dr. Ruth Newton's “Scaffolding the Brain: A Neurobiological Approach to Assessment and Intervention”, I was inspired to implement neuroscience principles in my practice. I am fortunate enough to currently participate in a monthly study group with Dr. Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D., a leader on parenting who focuses on the topic of Whole-Brain Integration for Children and Adolescents. I have also attended trainings with other leading trauma and neuroscience experts such as Dr. Bruce Perry, Dr. Dan Siegel, and Dr. Rick Hanson. In addition, I coordinate a local study group in my community for clinicians implementing neuroscience principles in a clinical setting.
