We are saddened by the passing of Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams. Scott was diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia and helped to raise awareness about voice disorders by speaking candidly about his own experience. This was especially true in his 2013 book, "How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big" when he used his experience to illustrate themes of overcoming adversity and developing systems for success, often highlighting the isolation and frustration of the condition. Scott spoke at the 2015 National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association Symposium, memorably opening his talk by saying that he truly meant it when he said he was happy to be speaking at the conference. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his work.

Happy Hanukkah! 🕎 This 8-day “festival of lights” begins today, Sunday, December 14, at sundown. The first candle is lit on the Chanukiah (menorah) on the first night of Hanukkah. Also spelled “Chanukah”, the Jewish holiday celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and spirituality over materiality. In 2025, Hanukkah will continue through Monday, December 22.
