Confidential and Sustainable Recovery
We serve people who are looking for confidentiality, whether it is because of their profession or their preference. Clients receive confidential, long-term addiction treatment that supports sustainable recovery. Confidential Recovery is an outpatient program, allowing clients to continue their careers or jobs and enjoy living at home while receiving long-term

therapy. Continued Treatment
Confidential Recovery is a great option for continued treatment and support once individuals are discharged from a detox clinic or a residential addiction program. Our clients are often high-functioning individuals who generally want to be with others like themselves. Individualized Treatment
We like to say one size doesn’t fit all for treatment. Each individual works to develop their own self-care plan to foster growth necessary for long-term sobriety and sustainable recovery patterns. Our program treats the whole person, not just the symptoms which are present. Lasting Support
One in seven Americans will develop a substance use disorder at some point in their lifetime. Most will not be successful at sobriety without ongoing support. Confidential Recovery believes the stigma of addiction and treatment must be removed to help clients along the road to recovery – it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

21% of lawyers struggle with problematic alcohol use*, and it's no mystery why. Some of the reasons are:

- A culture of hazing and overworking young associates
- Lack of adequate sleep, exercise, and healthy routines
- The isolation of attorneys from their families due to long case hours
- The adversarial nature of legal battles trigger "fight or flight" responses and then celebration or drowning sorrows depending on the outcome

This is bad enough already if getting help was encouraged. Unfortunately, we have seen that the stigma around asking for help for problematic drug or alcohol use is very high due to the obsession with "billable hours" and the need to appear strong and confident for the client.

What is meant when people say "addiction is a family disease?"

A. Does that mean that it is passed down from parent to child?
B. Does it mean that when one member suffers everyone suffers?
C. Does it mean that while one person expresses the addiction through drug use, the other members contribute to the issue in their own way (ie codependency)?
D. All of the above

Of course all of the above issues can be affecting someone who has developed a problematic pattern of substance use.

This is just one of the questions our Founder and CEO Scott H. Silverman answered on Robert Plank's podcast: "Debunk Addiction Myths and What Families Need to Know."

It is queued up to this exact question, here: https://bit.ly/41xicX1

🪖 Our veterans can suffer a moral injury when faced with the images of our country at war in the middle east again.

The feelings are complex, ranging from bringing trauma to the surface to causing survivor's guilt and, unfortunately, sometimes triggering the urge to self-medicate as a coping mechanism.

If the news and images are upsetting to you, it's recommended you minimize your exposure to them. It's also important to remember that you are not alone, and there are numerous resources available for veterans from the VA and other sources. For starters, the Veterans Crisis Line is (800) 273-8255.

You can read an article that our Founder and CEO Scott H. Silverman wrote about veterans being negatively affected by our country returning to war on California Business Journal here: https://calbizjournal.com/when-the-war-is-personal-what-veterans-are-feeling-right-now/

If you are a veteran in the San Diego area and would like help with drug or alcohol use you can call Confidential Recovery at (619) 752-7590 to learn about our outpatient treatment program that is popular with vetarans (or read about it here: https://www.confidentialrecovery.com/military-san-diego/)

Corrections officers (C.O.s) suffer PTSD at a rate (34%) more than double veterans (14%).*

Additionally,70.8% reported using alcohol and 17.2% reported using sedatives in the last month.* A 2021 California survey found that 31% of C.O.s reported drinking more than intended at least once in the previous month.

Corrections officers have an astronomically high su***de rate, and their life expectancy is 59 compared to the general population average of 75.*

And yet, the stigma of asking for help overwhelmingly prevents them from seeking drug or mental health treatment.

Confidential Recovery has a discreet outpatient drug rehab program for employed professionals in San Diego, and many sessions can be attended remotely (via ZOOM/Cell).

Read about the success we have had reaching first responders like corrections officers here: https://www.confidentialrecovery.com/services/first-responders/. Call us at (619) 752-7590 for a complimentary and confidential phone assessment.

Hope and help are available. Millions of us live in joyous recovery from the addiction which ruined our lives, let us show you how we climbed out of the pit of despair, one day at a time.

You've run toward every emergency but your own. 👮

For law enforcement, asking for help feels like a career risk. Losing your badge. Your clearance. Your reputation in the department. That fear is real.

But from my experience, what is more likely to end a career (and a family): untreated addiction.

Confidential Recovery's outpatient program is discreet with flexible hours. It is staffed and attended by people who understand the warrior ethos that police and veterans have been ingrained with — because many of them have lived it too.

You can get help and keep working.

For more information, visit https://www.confidentialrecovery.com/services/first-responders/, or call (619) 752-7590 for a private and complimentary consultation.

We offer substance abuse and mental heatlh treatment to firefighters, EMS, corrections, dispatch, and other public safety professionals.

Why do 21% of attorneys qualify as problem drinkers*?

There are several systemic factors about this career which greatly contribute to excessive drinking and drug use. Some of them are:

- A culture of hazing and overworking young associates
- Lack of adequate sleep, exercise, and healthy routines
- The isolation of attorneys from their families due to long case hours
- The adversarial nature of legal battles trigger "fight or flight" responses and then celebration or drowning sorrows depending on the outcome

The stigma around asking for help for problematic drug or alcohol use is very high due to the obsession with "billable hours" and the need to appear strong and confident for the client.

But, as we know, addiction is insidious and progressive and any legal professional would be so much better off seeking help before a crisis hits (divorce, DUI, or worse).

Most addiction treatment fails — at least that’s what the numbers say.

But what if we’re measuring the wrong thing?

On this episode of Your Crisis Coach podcast, Our CEO Scott H. Silverman has some members of Confidential Recovery clinical team on to discuss "What makes outpatient addiction treatment work?"

You can watch the podcast here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2vCUusCP9U

We break down:

• Why the 95% relapse statistic is misunderstood
• Why 30 days isn’t enough
• What actually helps people stay sober
• Why relapse isn’t always failure
• The role of veterans, professionals, and family in recovery
• How connection changes outcomes

If you or someone you love is navigating addiction, relapse, or recovery burnout — this conversation matters. You can call us at (619) 752-7590 for a private consultation.

Research shows that roughly 75% of prescription stimulant misuse cases involve people using the medication not to get high, but to meet performance demands they believe are non-negotiable.

We can tell you that after decades of working with recovering people, we have helped many once-successful executives who have lost their careers and their families due to the progressive nature of addiction. And, too many have regretted not seeking help until the professional, personal, and often legal crises have changed their lives permanently.

At Confidential Recovery, we specialize in helping San Diego professionals return to and maintain their careers while receiving substance abuse counseling at our discreet office in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood.

If you would like to talk with us about our programs, call us at (619) 752-7590 for a private and complimentary consultation.
