A lot of people say:

“I don’t even know what I’m feeling.”

That’s more common than you think.

Most people weren’t taught how to:

* recognize emotions
* name them
* understand what they mean

So instead, it all just feels like:
stress… or frustration… or nothing at all.

Therapy often starts with something simple:
slowing things down enough to actually notice what’s there.

Overthinking isn’t the problem.

It’s what overthinking is trying to solve.

Usually it’s:
• Trying to avoid making the “wrong” decision
• Trying to prevent regret
• Trying to feel in control

The issue is… it doesn’t actually work.

It just keeps you stuck longer.

At some point, the work becomes:
learning how to move forward without perfect certainty.

A lot of the time, it’s not the situation itself that’s causing the pain—it’s how we’re holding it, what we’re telling ourselves about it, and how tightly we’re reacting to it. When we shift that relationship, everything starts to change.

That’s usually where therapy begins.

It’s not.

Anxiety is usually a signal:
• Something feels uncertain
• Something feels out of control
• Something feels unsafe

The real work is understanding what your anxiety is trying to tell you—not just trying to shut it down.

They struggle because:
• They’ve never been taught how to understand their emotions
• They’ve learned to ignore themselves
• They’ve been in environments where they had to adapt to survive

Therapy isn’t about fixing you.
It’s about helping you finally understand yourself.
