Have you ever caught yourself reacting in a way you wish you hadn’t?

~Snapping. Shutting down. Saying yes when you meant no.~

And then later thinking, “why did I do that?”

It can feel automatic, like there’s no choice., but there IS a small pause in there that we can expand upon.

If you notice what’s happening, you can expand that pause and start to choose something different. Then do it again. And again.

This is how you start retraining your brain and unlearning old patterns.

Over time, those small pauses change how you respond.

You don’t have to get it perfect. Just start by giving yourself a little more space.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about a simple but important question: what actually makes us happy?

Not the quick dopamine hits or the things we think should make us happy, but the things that truly lead to a fulfilling life over time.

A couple of weeks ago I hosted a workshop exploring this question through the lens of well-being research and had a really thoughtful group join the conversation. Several people told me they wanted to attend but couldn’t make the time, so I’m offering it again at a new time slot.

“What Makes You Happy? The Science of a Good Life” is a research-informed, discussion-based workshop where we explore what science actually says about living a meaningful and satisfying life. We’ll look at the habits, mindsets, and everyday choices that shape our well-being and talk about how to integrate them into real life.

As we move further into 2026, many of us are carrying good intentions and resolutions with us. Some are already feeling wobbly, others are still going strong but could use support and accountability to stay that way.

I’m hosting an interactive workshop called Sustaining Good Intentions for 2026 for anyone who wants to pause, reflect, and think more intentionally about how they’re caring for what matters to them this year.

Happy New Year, everyone!

How are you feeling as you enter into this new year?

While I don’t believe there’s anything magical about the changing of “2025” to “2026,” I do believe that a new trip around the sun can serve as a helpful reminder to take a step back and look at our lives.

Instead of tired ol’ New Year’s resolutions, I wanted to offer a workshop to help us orient ourselves in a more holistic way.
