Aiiight chickadees, are you anxious or just hungry?

Trust me, I love herbs buttttt HANGER IS REAL!

The body and the mind are always communicating with one another. If your body is feeling lightheaded, shaky, and on edge, you may think you are anxious yet this is a physiologic response to low blood sugar.

Coffee for breakfast? Skipping meals? Intermittent fasting when your body is asking for food? Splurging on carbs? Protein bar for lunch?

Yup - it’s hanger.

Your adrenal glands hate when things are unpredictable. When your blood sugar drops, your adrenal glands produce adrenaline and cortisol to breakdown sugar stores and to convert fat to sugar to feed your hangry brain and to prevent you from punching someone in the face. What does adrenaline feel like? Anxiety😜

When working with patients to get to the bottom of their anxiety, I ALWAYS look at blood sugar balance. A simple ways to support balanced blood sugar is to eat more protein and fat.

💦 what’s in your water?💦

But for real - do you know what is in your water?! I bet if you learned you would be astounded🤢

Tap water is a known source of MANY contaminants like bacteria, viruses, pharmaceutical medications, heavy metals, fluoride, radioactive elements, industrial chemicals, and pesticides. 👀 You are consuming waaaaay more than just water if you drink straight from the tap.

A quick visit to the Environmental Working Group’s website gives you all the mind blowing info you need 😳 My area code contains 26 known contaminants, more of half of which are KNOWN to cause cancer

FYI: Legal levels of ANY toxic chemical does NOT = safe🫠 especially in good ol AMERICA - land of the sick

🍼So bottled water must be safe then, right? Nope! Plastic water bottles actively leach chemicals into the water. Have you ever drank a water bottle that was left out? Did you notice a different taste? Yup- that’s plastic! In fact, the majority of bottled water companies do not publish their water quality tests to begin. 🧐 Ummmm that’s sketchy to me. EWG’s independent research found 38 contaminants in the 10 most popular brands of water

🔎What about Brita and pitcher water filters? They are carbon based filters that can BARELY reduce the disturbing amount of contaminants. Plus, the plastic leeches into the water, similar to bottled.

🔥If you take your health seriously, it’s time to start taking your water seriously🔥
•Choose reverse osmosis or distilled (with added minerals) or spring water from a reliable source that provides transparent water reports
•Bring water with you in refillable containers (glass or stainless steel)
•Avoid plastic (including bottles, refillable jugs, and pitchers like Brita/similar brands)
•Stay hydrated

Raise your hand if the first trimester of pregnancy was filled with nausea 🙋🏽‍♀️

Honestly, it was BRUTAL not being able to share with my yoga students and patients because all I wanted to do was puke everywhere 🤢😚

🔥Here are some things that CHANGED THE GAME for me!

🍎Eating as soon as I got out of bed changed my life. If I waited too long, or skipped my lil snacky - it was not pretty.

💊Vitamin B6 is such an underrated tool for this! Thank gooooodness my doctor friend reminded me of this epic hack! LIFE SAVING!

🍋Lemons & ginger became my new besties. Handing me a lemonade or ginger beer was heaven!

🧘🏾‍♀️Also, moving my body was always when I felt the best! Thank youuuu endorphins 😍
