I have an active practice in San Diego, Huntington Beach, Orange County, and the Greater Long Beach area. Prior to becoming a hypnotherapist, I had a career of more than 20 years working in the medical field in both medical management and medical historian work for orthopaedic surgeons. I became interested in hypnotherapy in 1998 when my son, Scott, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and used hypnot
herapy as a complimentary treatment along with his treatment protocol at UCLA. Scott noted less nausea while undergoing chemotherapy and with hypnosis was also able to deal with the issues of stress, fatigue and pain management. He was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme and originally given a seven month prognosis. He lived for more than two years, during which time he was provided a good quality of life, partly attributed to the hypnotherapy. In addition, I had my own personal experience of hypnosis for weight loss, resulting in losing 40 pounds. Subsequently, I returned to school and became a certified clinical hypnotherapist. Along with my regular hypnotherapy practice in I have volunteered my services at the Wellness Community in Santa Ana, working with cancer patients as well as the Brain Tumor Support Group at Hoag Hospital and UC Irvine Medical Center. I was also chairperson and co-founder of the Southern California Brain Tumor Walk which is an annual event that raises funds for the National Brain Tumor Society. I also enjoy sharing the success that is possible through hypnosis by speaking to various corporations, organizations, and health clubs, providing relaxation sessions with hypnosis and instructing on proper breathing techniques to eliminate stress.
