Over the decades, I learnt only daily workouts (combination of strength training and burst cardio), proper nutrition (mostly whole and homecooked food), enough sleep (7 to 8 hours), low stress (find your passion), emotional well-being (importance of self care) and social community (friends and relationships matter) work. There are no quick fixes. I got my moniker 'Melody the Machine' from my gym f

riends for going fast and not taking breaks (not even for water) when I do my high intensity workouts! As a Freelance Marketing & PR Consultant, I extend my services and expertise to health and wellness related companies. I bring with me all the nutritional knowledge and marketing experience to elevate your business to the next level! I have worked at one of the largest Chinese restaurant chains in Singapore as an Advertising & Promotions Manager for close to 6 years before venturing into freelance work partnering with various luminaries in the Singapore food & beverage industry. Through the course of my work, I have delved into writing and editing as well. I had a 2 year stint at Ben & Jerry's San Francisco Bay Area as a Sales & Marketing Manager in the midst of my freelance work but had a major career path shift when I left. My focus changed to the health and wellness field. I did however gain an invaluable experience in sales and expanded my knowledge of social media and software tools in growing the catering business. Proud to expand my health and fitness offerings for clients beyond PR to PT 💪❤️ After months of prep and studying for the ACE CPT exam, particularly the last few weeks being the most intense, I was hoping to just pass at 70% but surprised myself with a score of 85%!

Thanks to .singapore for the course guidance and support. Now on to add and build my expertise and experience as a newly certified personal trainer. Look forward to extend the healthspan of all my future clients!

Did my VO2 Max testing at the sports performance lab in the University of Malaya Medical Centre KL. Well worth the travel with cost savings, latest testing equipment, and a helpful team. Despite minor food poisoning, bed bug bites, and lack of sleep, somehow managed to get commendable results. Had a score of 42.8 which is in the Superior range, one level away from Elite athletes.

Also got to do an isokinetic strength assessment for the first time which tests how strong my quads and hamstrings are. Have good strength and power but need to improve on endurance due to knee wear and tear.

Thanks to my DeAging family and .guru leading us on this longevity quest, I get to find out my various biomarkers and benchmark my current biological age and fitness level.

I have not set any competition goals but just enjoy my daily sweat and grind along with proper nutrition and ample sleep. To see how it translates to a younger body is simply intriguing and highly motivating.

Aim to improve on all my scores by year end with the right tweaks for my respective biomarkers 🧬

Thanks to my super star gym bud Aunty C aka I beat my dead hang record of 2 minutes from last December 💪 So did she from over 3 minutes last year 🙌 Watch the reel to see how long we each lasted!

Grip strength is one of the biomarkers of aging. Having a strong grip is a measure of longevity and research has shown it can indicate the likelihood of living past 100 🤲

Give it a go and time yourself!

to participate in the fitness challenge! All of us had fun seeing where we stand in our fitness level and age group at the same time getting bemedaled and setting personal records 🔥

More importantly sharing and spreading the same message of strength training for functional longevity and extending healthspan. No matter the age it’s never too late to start or keep it up 💪

Proud to take the gold for the 45+ female category and set a new dead hang record of 3:16mins 🤩

Pull ups and squats were on point for the 21+ category. Just need to work on my dips!

Am currently ranked No.2 in the Gen X Women’s League of the Longevity World Cup 2025, 8th for women, and 23rd on the overall leaderboard.

Hear about the evolution of my fitness, longevity perspectives, and thoughts on some Asian cultural beliefs.

Proud achievement of 1,000 burpees in 1hr39mins vs 1hr49mins in 2022!

We have an annual CNY tradition of 1,000 burpees or one hour maximum number of burpees. Only 5 of us have braved through the 1,000 burpees!

I did 1,000 burpees in 2022 and kept to one hour for the last two years but decided at the hour mark (already at 680) to push through and get into the insssanity again this year for my Chinese zodiac year 🐍

Did it in sets of 100s then 50s. Sheer will power considering lack of sleep! Way to soar (and sore) into the new year and break personal bests with my fitfam 💪🙌🔥

Yes you can! With the FitRX programme of exercise, nutrition, sleep, and supplements. As simple as that. Nothing new not a fad. Science based and evidence backed. No short cuts no short term actions. It’s a lifestyle and lifelong commitment.

We may be gunning for the but the ultimate prize of cutting our biological years and extending our health span is priceless.

As quoted at the end of the article, my livelihood and quality of life is dependent on my physical and mental functioning.. when I say my goal is to stay young as long as possible, it’s about increasing my healthspan.
