Element Q Healing Center is an LGBTQ+ Mental Health PHP/IOP program located in San Diego, CA, owned and operated by the team at Monima Behavioral Health.

Those who came before us—the courageous, the resilient, the ones who fought tirelessly for the rights and recognition the LGBTQ+ community holds today. They endured, they resisted, they carried the weight of progress on their shoulders. Their strength laid the foundation for a brighter future. Today, we stand on that foundation, inspired by their courage and fueled by a vision of gentleness, healing, and transformation. Element Q Healing is a place where trauma is met with care, where identities are celebrated, and where stories are reclaimed. We are a team committed to social justice, restorative healing, and individualized care. We work to honor each person’s journey while creating space for growth, connection, and renewal. Through identity, gender, and cultural affirming practices, and trauma-focused care, we help clients not only find their voice but embrace the power within it. Element Q Healing is a place where being seen and heard is not a privilege but a promise. OUR SERVICES

PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program)

PHP is the highest level of care offered, providing over 30 hours of weekly treatment. This program is intentionally designed for LGBTQIA+ community members ready for a deep dive into change. Most clients take a leave of absence from work, school, or daily routines to fully commit themselves to healing. IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)

IOP is designed specifically for clients ready for level of support above traditional once-per-week therapy, or as a steppingstone between a full-time recovery program – such as PHP or residential treatment- and returning to their daily routines full-time.

We're so proud of Dr. Rose Schlaff, our Doctor of Physical Therapy, for being selected to present at the 23rd International Hawai'i Summit, hosted by the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT).

Her presentation, "Trauma, Intimacy, and Aging: Restoring Sexual Resilience & Connection Across the Lifespan," is part of a multi-day summit focused on preventing, assessing, and treating trauma across the lifespan.

At Element Q Healing Center, Dr. Rose specializes in trauma-informed pelvic and sexual health, working with q***r and trans folks to restore connection, comfort, and joy in intimacy. Drawing from her deep expertise in pelvic and sexual health, she weaves in nervous system education, somatics, coaching, functional nutrition, and integrative hypnosis to support whole-person healing.

Beyond her clinical work, she trains therapists and health professionals in trauma-informed sexual health, including as faculty at the University of Michigan's Human Sexuality program.
