During his time at University of California, Davis, pursuing a B.S. in Biochemistry, he spent one year studying abroad at Lund University in Sweden to minor in religious studies and mathematics. He went on to extend his education, receiving his doctorate from University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
