Scrolling the wellness algorithm on IG, listening to every wellness podcast out there, reading more books…

It’s probably not going to get you where you want to go.

There’s no “secret” that you just haven’t uncovered yet.

You probably already know what’s healthy.

The challenge is actually staying consistent.

Why do we keep doing things that harm us?

Why do we stop doing things that help us?

That’s literally what I went to grad school to study.

Because I knew all the things —
My friends came to me for wellness advice. I read every nutrition book under the sun. I studied meditation. I went to an Ayurveda retreat on my college spring break for God’s sake!

But I wasn’t doing it.

Or rather, I was doing it… and then not doing it. And then getting back on the frickin wagon. And falling off again.

Over and over and over.

So I went to get my Master’s in Public Health, specifically focusing on Health Behavior and Health Education.

AKA: Why we do what we do (even if it doesn’t serve us).
And why we DON’T do what we know is good for us.

Now, I teach my clients how to change that.

Inside my coaching container, we focus on understanding how behavior change actually works so you can create habits that are so automated… you don’t even think about them anymore.

(And quit the habits keeping you stuck.)

Stop the constant starting over.
Trying a new plan every month.
Telling yourself you’ll “restart when life gets less hectic.”

And start living your wellness, easefully.

In times such as these…

The world doesn’t need you burnt out.

But it also doesn’t need you obsessing about your health so much that you don’t have capacity for the causes you care about.

🔋 The world needs good-hearted humans at their full capacity.

Which means…

Your health should take up as LITTLE mental headspace as possible. 🤯

While still living the healthy lifestyle required for the kind of energy it takes to change the world. ⚡️

The women I work with are not trying to shrink their lives down to manage their health.

They are here to make a massive impact.

🫶🏼 Heart-centered leaders.
🪢 Women who want to serve their communities.
🌎 Humans who know they’re meant to do big things in the world.

But you cannot change the world if you’re exhausted, inflamed, burnt out, or constantly thinking about food and your body.

Happy happy birthday, Mama 🤍

I’ve been reflecting on how grateful I am to have been raised by this woman… and I just keep coming back to how impressed I am that she raised us with so much belief in possibilities.

How she raised us to believe in ourselves.
To see the good in people.
To look at the world through a lens of deep optimism — even when life felt hard.

I grew up knowing how capable I was.

I never even knew the stereotypes about women not being as good at certain things as men (like literally had no idea that people thought boys were better at math and science until learning about bias in a college psych class).

She made sure that her kids believed in themselves, regardless of gender. And she made sure we saw that capacity in other people too.

She made sure we saw everyone as equals, regardless of their identity. And she taught us immense empathy for everyone, regardless of where they came from or who they were.

And I’m just so freaking grateful.

In this time where empathy seems to be dwindling and individualism (at the expense of others) seems to be thriving, I’m so grateful that my mom modeled strength without losing compassion.

And that informs my mission in my business and beyond — empowering women, and people of all genders, to stand in their power and their capacity while also caring for the world. That’s how we make a real difference.

Thanks for teaching me that mom 🩵

Please don’t misunderstand me: that doesn’t mean you have to overhaul your entire life so you can take every action step imaginable…

That’s what we call “all or nothing” thinking around here, and it will ultimately result in you burning yourself out (aka… NOT energy management).

Instead, it means identifying one small action step (that actually feels like something you’d feel fulfilled by)…

And taking it.

Then another…

And taking it.

Ideally, at some point we get these action steps automated in our everyday lives (you know I’m all about automation > willpower).

In case it’s helpful for giving you ideas… Here are some of the action steps I take, have been taking, and/ir recently started taking:

1. Calling my reps. Using which gives me a script and connects me directly to them

2. Donating (10% of revenue from my business (no, not profit, revenue) has gone to orgs I care about for years)

3. Volunteering with local or national orgs I care about

4. Protesting (and inviting friends to come with)

5. Virtual or in person trainings for how to react in a situation where people’s rights are being violated — so everyone stays safe
