My energy comes from supporting our visionaries, our next generation leaders.

▶️ It takes COURAGE to step out and follow through without losing ground.
▶️ It takes DRIVE to lean in even when there is unknown.
▶️ It takes PERSEVERANCE to change directions and regroup and try again when the writing on the wall says WRONG WAY.
▶️ It takes AWARENESS to remember to even look on the wall!

So many things to navigate while we follow our dreams that often feel so far away.

I promise it is worth it.

It is worth the
- daily commitment
- the regular check-ins with your coach or mentor
- the push to stay balanced without burning out
- the day when you tell me the money is in the bank
- the day you look me in the eye and say "That went pretty well, it was hard, now let's do it again!"

Remember, though, burnout, exhaustion - it's real. It sneaks up on you.

Do yourself a favor, find yourself an accountability partner, a coach, a mentor.

🧭 Stay on track with your vision.

You are worth it and, frankly, people are waiting for you to bring them the services/products that they need and want and dream of.

I made my husband cry today.

I know what you are thinking. OMG! What kind of person is she...

My husband is a retired veteran (Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force... he couldn't get enough). He is also retired from the Sheriff's Department working mob cases in LA on tougher stuff than you see on TV. He has seen a lot.

So... this is what I did...

You know how I advertise on my profile that I help people save 10+ hours each week...

That's what I did. During the day, I use my extra time on my husband and a few other important littles, who are not so little anymore.

♥️ I spent a few minutes here and there today responding to his texts and phone calls and appreciating his efforts during the day (he is building me a fireplace in the master bedroom, I'll show you pictures when he is done).

♥️ I take the time to appreciate him and value him and love him because he deserves it. He is such a good man.

♥️ And so, he became teary eyed today on our zoom call (I am out of town this week) and it was so sweet. He appreciates my investment in him and in us.

I take time to engage and invest in my most important people on purpose with intentional presence (silent the phone, close the tabs, value the interaction).

That is how life legacies are made- investing in the most important.

Continue to prioritize. Continue to be purposeful. Continue to appreciate those in your life right now, today, in between everything, and especially prioritize you.

What would you do with an extra 5 hours a week?

This is a pivotal question for many of my clients.

This is a typical question I ask my clients who are feeling extra stressed, irritable and burned out.

What tends to happen, especially for high achievers, is a hyper focus on accomplishment, task completion, and momentum.

Then, almost without warning

- decision fatigue

- unexpected irritability, and

- insecurity pops up.

So, we go through the checklist of sleep quality, hydration, fitness routine, etc. but often, what is really needed is a block of time to

- have some fun, belly laugh, giggle

- be curious about a new experience, a destination, or a new social group

- create... anything... recipe, art, music, an article, a treehouse

Remember, treehouses? The joy of childhood, of losing track of time.

That is where those extra hours need to go, a place where you lose track of time and allow your brain to experience some respite from your daily grind.

If you had an extra 5 hours a week, what would you do that allowed you freedom from responsibility, obligation, and guilt?

I chose boating on Tuesday with my youngest and my husband. It was so lovely!

"Do SOMETHING TODAY that your FUTURE SELF will THANK YOU for"

This sticker is on my laptop
- it helps me stay focused on setting my future self up for success
- most of the time, I accomplish many things each day that move me along
- but some days, I only complete 1 thing and that 1 thing is good enough
- because small steps lead to long distance destinations

Remember: One thing a day, if that is where you need to start, and soon it will add up to many things.

And the momentum will expand, like a sort of expectation that sounds like, "Of course, I will do things that set me up for success."

You start to think, "What else can I do to support this dream?" And now, you are well on your way. ❤️

Dandelion Wishes. In my childhood, we would pick a dandelion, make a wish, and blow on the flower to watch the seeds float through the air wondering if our wish would come true.

This is the biggest dandelion I have ever seen! Probably the size of a tangerine!

Fast forward to adulting. July is a great time to complete a mid-year check-in.

I often recommend a quick assessment called START, STOP, CONTINUE as a way to review, reset, and plan ahead. This works well in relationships, too.

Start with CONTINUE.
What is going well so far this year, from personal life to professional life?
- Make a list and write it down on paper or in your favorite note-taking app.
- Celebrate it! Life is good. Good things are happening. Notice them.
- Your mind works better when you start with GRATITUDE.

Next, what do you need to START doing that you keep putting off?
- Call someone more often, say "I appreciate you" more regularly
- Track a behavior to improve on performance
- Allow for more quiet time or social time to re-energize

Finally, what do you need to STOP doing?
- Going to bed too late
- Excessive behaviors that DO NOT support your success
- Avoiding an important task or conversation

A quick START, STOP, CONTINUE review is a great tool to use to STAY ON TRACK with your most important goals and relationships.

When you
- practice AWARENESS,
- make ADJUSTMENTS on your focus, and
- engage in ACCOUNTABILITY,

you will make your DANDELION WISH come true!

Try it and let me know how you find it helpful.

"In between goals is a thing called LIFE that has to BE LIVED and enjoyed."
- Sid Caesar

Do you ever wonder how you will fit it all in- the business/professional growth, the partnering, the friendships, the parenting, the fun?

We live in a high paced world and it seems to be gaining speed while the finish line keeps getting closer.

There are so many things I want to create time for, from discovering more beautiful mountain scenes with husband like this one I found on Sunday to spending even more "belly laugh time" with my adult kids to maintaining sustainable business growth that aligns with my core values.

How are you keeping pace AND staying in the present moment?

If running out of daylight is causing frustration, let's chat.

Here in Montana, we have super short days in the winter so we have to work super fast to get things done and we have extra long days in the winter so we can slow down a bit. 🤣 Just kidding, I mean the days are shorter in the winter in Montana and longer in the summer than in San Diego, but you know what I mean.

If you need to find some extra time to fill in the areas that are being shortchanged, let me know, and we can work on it together.

"Listen to your life. All moments are key moments."
- Frederick Buechner

So true. As leaders, our intuition both at work/business and at home must be tuned in because that is where the music resides.

Are you orchestrating the music that you want to live in and enjoy?

Does it match your natural drumbeat?

We all want something different so be aware of what you need and also be aware of what your most important people need.

- Listen. Be curious.
- Be grateful when your moments and your inner music align.
- Make adjustments when it does not.
- Repeat until you find the rhythm that is natural for you.

"Let the winds of ENTHUSIASM sweep through you. Live today with GUSTO."
- Dale Carnegie

Daily tasks can sometimes be so boring. So, how can we bring the experience up a notch and get our least favorite job done with ENTHUSIASM and GUSTO?

It is our ATTITUDE that determines our experience so let's mix it up and be CURIOUS with it. 😀

⏳ A few years back, I created a food show for a special group of people. I had absolutely no experience 😂 in this industry but my company wanted our department to find new ways to keep our community engaged during a stressful time.

📽 During the first episode, “the very FIRST one,” the one where my supervisor and peers gathered around to watch me complete a one-and-only “take,” something happened unexpectedly.

🏁 I visualized ahead of time how everything would go. I thought through ingredients, prepared cute little dishes, and showcased stages of the process to include alternative ingredients for those folks who needed such options. I was ready.

🥕 First, let me explain, the food show focused on how to combine common kitchen food items with last night’s leftovers from an in-house dining facility in an independent living community for older adults who were unable to leave the property due to sheltering in place.

➡ I bet you can guess what was happening during this period in history. Yes, you guessed it. The show was called the “Quarantine Food Show.”

📖 Back to the first episode. I visualized the success ahead of time. I planned accordingly and I used some recipes that I loved which brought me joy and happiness.

🍳 So what could go wrong? Well, my overachieving personality wanted to add real cooking show elements which meant I actually cooked during the “one-take-only” recording. Despite my plan to transfer the perfectly cooked over-easy egg onto my beautifully displayed plate of toasted bagel with cream cheese and jam, the egg slipped off the spatula and dropped to the floor.

😁 And without missing a beat, I smiled into the camera with my big, blue eyes and confidently chuckled, “Oops, it looks like I dropped the egg. Well, if you are making a mess while you are cooking in the kitchen, then it must mean you are having a good time! Making a mess is part of the experience of creating something amazing! Don’t worry, I cooked another egg.”

🗺 We have choices when things go unexpectedly. We can roll with it and focus on what is going right or we can become derailed, possibly missing the opportunity for self-discovery that may lead us to a better outcome.

My colleagues thought I handled the situation great and the residents thought it was hilarious and relatable! And thus, the food show series began.

🎯 Why share this silly food show story, because it is important to:
1) Plan accordingly
2) Visualize success
3) Be brave when trying something new
4) Understand that an egg will drop occasionally
5) Smile, chuckle, learn from it, and keep going
6) Remember you are not alone in this journey
7) Surround yourself with a positive, growth mindset tribe that believe in your vision and are ahead of you in season so that you may have the life that you want with the least amount of dropped eggs.

⭕ What positive take away do you have from one of your unexpected outcomes?
