Life is exciting when you visit Rising Stars of Equestrian Therapy at the Sycamore Canyon Equestrian Center at 1525 Sycamore Canyon Road in San Dimas!!!

Last week, the Vice Mayor, Ed Reece, past Mayor Corey Calaycay, and the Claremont City Commissioner, Jennifer Deal, visited our horses. They eagerly listed to our success stories with our clients interacting with our horses. They were interested in learning about our 2 other programs: the Silver Fox Follies, that will be August 30 at the Bonita Center for the Arts, and our Soldiers Helping Soldiers, that is free to all veterans.

We hosted men and women who reside at the Masonic Home in Covina. Dollie wanted her pictures taken of her joy grooming Chuck.

We can host your group, of any age, to enjoy the experiences with our horses. Call to make an appointment 840-466-2294. Please add this new business number in your phone. We moved our business office to Upland.

Today, 25 alumni from the University of Southern California volunteered at our Rising Stars site to make our horse stalls more comfortable for our horses.

Thank you Aubrey Nova for setting up this opportunity for Rising Stars. You are our super special volunteer!

The alumni volunteers shoveled dirt to level stalls and fill in ditches around the stalls that drained excess rain water runoff. When the stalls were leveled, rubber mats were arranged on top. Clean mulch was added last. Some alumni cleaned saddles and other tack. Others washed the horses to help them get clean and cool off. Thanks to Jessie Rodriguez, Courtney Kerchner, and Dianna Voss for your supervision.

A shout out to the Alumni from University of Southern California! You are our super heroes!

The best response of the day was, "It was a 2 thumbs up day!" Everyone standing under the tree agreed.

We are thrilled to share the excitement of 2 groups who visited Rising Stars last week.

6 American Heratage Girls earned a Horsemanship Badge by grooming, putting on the halters and saddles, and then rode Chuck and Phoenix. Every girl was excited. Thanks to Zoe Scott for sharing your knowledge and passion for horses to your friends. You are amazing!!!

On Wednesday, 8 students from Monte Clair High School came out to brush, walk and feed the horses carrots and apples. Everyone gave thumbs up before they left.

If your group wants to experience our horse program, please leave a message. Your group will have a great time. Please bring apples and long carrots so you will make fast friends with our horses!!

Our next Meet and Greet will be Saturday, March 14, from 9 to 10:30. You will interact with the horses. No riding, but no charge. Just a time to connect with our amazing horses.

The other Saturdays are open for private lessons! When you sign up for private lessons, we expect you to show up. We had 5 no shows today with no calls to cancel. You still need to pay a cancelation fee. Someone else cold have used your spot. See you soon.

Last Saturday, we hosted our first Meet and Greet. We gained 4 new families and 2 volunteers, plus several returning families. They painted designs on Rosie and Chuck. They brushed the horses, fed them apples and carrots, and enjoyed petting them. We offer this experience the second Saturday of each month, weather permitting, no rain or temperatures over 90 degrees. We don't offer riding, so there is no charge.

We have the other Saturdays open for private lessons.
