Rising Stars of Equestrian Therapy

Since 1991, Rising Stars of Equestrian Therapy has provided therapeutic and recreational horseback riding lessons to physically and mentally challenged children and adults. Horseback riding is a multidisciplinary approach to neurodevelopment therapy and physical rehabilitation that produces specific benefits and provides overall conditioning of the rider.

The Rising Stars Meet and Greet will be this Saturday, March 14 from 9 to 10:30. You will meet our horses 🐎 and connect with them by petting and brushing them.

Make sure you stay on the path. Do not walk through the weeds. Jessie saw a snake today.

Come on out to enjoy the fresh mountain air and the joy of being around our horses.

The wind is too strong to have safe lessons today for Rising Stars.

Please visit our Fund Raiser at the Panera Bread in LA Verne today between 4 to 8. I will have a flyer so we can receive 25% of your meal cost. You can order on line, ALL DAY, and use the code FUND4U, we get the CREDIT.

We will see you next Saturday at our Meet and Greet from 9 to 10:30. You will connect with our horses. Feed them apples and carrots and groom them. The horses will love you! There will be no riding.

We are thrilled to share the excitement of 2 groups who visited Rising Stars last week.

6 American Heratage Girls earned a Horsemanship Badge by grooming, putting on the halters and saddles, and then rode Chuck and Phoenix. Every girl was excited. Thanks to Zoe Scott for sharing your knowledge and passion for horses to your friends. You are amazing!!!

On Wednesday, 8 students from Monte Clair High School came out to brush, walk and feed the horses carrots and apples. Everyone gave thumbs up before they left.

If your group wants to experience our horse program, please leave a message. Your group will have a great time. Please bring apples and long carrots so you will make fast friends with our horses!!

Our next Meet and Greet will be Saturday, March 14, from 9 to 10:30. You will interact with the horses. No riding, but no charge. Just a time to connect with our amazing horses.

The other Saturdays are open for private lessons! When you sign up for private lessons, we expect you to show up. We had 5 no shows today with no calls to cancel. You still need to pay a cancelation fee. Someone else cold have used your spot. See you soon.

Last Saturday, we hosted our first Meet and Greet. We gained 4 new families and 2 volunteers, plus several returning families. They painted designs on Rosie and Chuck. They brushed the horses, fed them apples and carrots, and enjoyed petting them. We offer this experience the second Saturday of each month, weather permitting, no rain or temperatures over 90 degrees. We don't offer riding, so there is no charge.

We have the other Saturdays open for private lessons.

We deeply appreciate your support.

This Saturday will be our first second Saturday of the month, Meet and Greet, from 9 to 10:30. No rides, no charge. You will feed and groom the horses. This opens 3 more Saturdays for private lessons to help more families. We are excited about this. We hope to see you Saturday and March 7th at Panera Bread in LA Verne.

The Rising Stars program has changed their Saturday schedule. We no longer offer an Open House where you meet us, sign waivers, and ride horses for your first lesson.

Now we offer a Meet and Greet on the second Saturday of the month from 9 to 10:30. You will learn information about our program. Meet our horses and set up appointments for lessons. There is no charge for this event. We will have more openings for private lessons on Saturday mornings, the other 3 Saturdays in the month.

We helped a 3 year old girl celebrate her birthday by riding Chuck. She and her sister dressed fancy to ride.

One little boy was afraid to ride, but he was able to pet the horse. That's a breakthrough for him!

We had adults ride and excited to receive their certificates.

We look forward to meeting you at our next Meet and Greet, Saturday, February 14 from 9 to 10:30.

Rising Stars will be hosting our our Saturday Event, tomorrow, January 31st from 9 to 10:30.

Starting in February, we will only have 1 Meet and Greet on the second Saturday of the month from 9 to 10:30. There will be no rides, but grooming and feeding the horses. No charge. The other Saturdays, we will have more opportunities for private lessons. We charge $55 for half hour. We have hour lessons for our families for $80 per hour. If you are affiliated with a Regional Center, then we can receive payment through Self determination.

Last Tuesday, we hosted residents from the Senior Center, Cigor Rancho Cucamonga. They totally enjoyed their experience with the horses.

We forward to seeing you tomorrow, Saturday, January 24, at the Rising Stars Saturday Event from 9 to 10:30. We will have 1 more event like this, next Saturday, January 31st.

Starting in February, we will only have Meet and Greets on the second Saturday of the month, with no rides. The other Saturdays you will be able to schedule private lessons. We will be giving out more information. This change will open up more lesson slots on the weekend for our families.

Ric and Ruth Morris spoke at the Masonic Home in Chovina today and talked about the Rising Stars of Equestrian Therapy program, the Soldiers Helping Soldiers, and our Silver Fox Follies. They were very excited about all of the things we do to help people.

Another great success story for Rising Stars of Equestrian Therapy! Today, we connected with our client, Christa, who has extremely benefited from counseling with Deborah Garland, LMFT. They allow the horses to take their stress so they can work out situations.

Christmas used our pictures from our website to make Diamond Art. It took her 3 months to make the photographs with the tiny Diamond pieces!!!! It was a labor of love ❤️😍💖 Then she made 3 D chess horse Rooks and a horse head she painted.

We gave her a painted horse Christmas tree ornament and 2 bracelets with beads and cowboy boots. She was thrilled.

On Tuesday, she gave Ruth a 3 D rattle that she made for our newest great granddaughter.

We had an emergency veteranian call for Phoenix. Fortunately, the boarders near our stalls witnessed Phoenix calling out, laying down, and in distress. Fortunately, our vet was on the property and gave Phoenix a good exam. She sedated Phoenix and was able to do a re**al exam and place a hose through her nose to check her stomach. I am so impressed with our team of veterinarians! Hopefully Phoenix will be well soon. We will keep an eye on her. Thanks for your prayers!
