The Neuroimaging of Trauma (NeT) study uses neuroimaging to understand more about how exposure to traumatic experiences in early adulthood affects the brain.

Participants will participate remotely as well as come in-person to the San Francisco VA for several research tests, including a psychological interview and an MRI of the brain. Compensation for completing the study is up to $315.

Hi! The Stress and Health Research Program at the San Francisco VA Medical Center is currently looking for veterans between the ages of 18-75 who have symptoms of PTSD and are remotely able to participate in class via telehealth. The study is 100% remote and recruiting nation-wide.

VGX is a remote paid research study that offers two kinds of non-medication treatments for symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): Integrative Exercise and PTSD Recovery classes.

Integrative Exercise incorporates elements of strength training, flexibility, cardiovascular training, controlled breathing exercises, and mindfulness. Exercises are adapted to your level of fitness.
PTSD Recovery Classes are psychoeducational classes that offer practical facts about PTSD treatment and recovery.

Time Commitment: The treatment lasts 12 consecutive weeks, 3 times a week.

Compensation: Up to $310 for all fully remote participants

The Stress and Health Research Program is dedicated to understanding the impact of stress on physical and psychological health.

Some of our studies are testing treatments, such as drugs or pieces of equipment, to find out what works best. Others offer an opportunity to get in-depth health information and screenings at no cost. We cannot predict the outcomes of a study or if it will directly benefit you, so it is always important that you weigh all risks and benefits when participating in a study.

Current research topics address a full continuum of care and support throughout the lifespan. For Soldiers and Veterans, our research spans from recruitment, training, and combat; through return and readjustment to civilian life; to the effects of aging across the lifespan. Because stress occurs in and out of combat, our studies may be seeking veteran or civilian subjects at all points of adult life. The Stress and Health Research Program is dedicated to the understanding of individuals’ experiences, with the intent of developing and testing effective and meaningful treatments.
