Lillian began her career in healthcare nearly two decades ago as a student translator for a UC Davis free clinic in Sacramento. The experience taught her about the joys of assisting others and the importance of patients feeling understood and connected to their healthcare providers. It inspired her to seek a career as a pharmacist and for 15 years has built relationships with her patients and urged them to stay healthy by making modest lifestyle adjustments and understanding their medicines. Jessel, a pharmacy technician, was an orphan adopted and raised by her grandmother. Due to her incredible love for her, she took on the task of taking care of her. She realized through real life experience that family members out of love will attempt to take over the responsibility of caring for a parent or loved one. Soon she discovered that this is extremely difficult and not manageable if they are still taking care of their own families and working full-time. The elderly inspired Ellen, is a licensed vocational nurse and practicing caregiver for over 15 years. Through experience, she gained an understanding of the demands and developed attributes such as dependability, trustworthiness, attentiveness, and patience. Working as a caregiver allowed her to see firsthand what the elderly require and sparked a desire to play a larger part in the care of the elderly. Imelda's motivation was sparked by her 20 years of experience working as a senior pharmacy technician. She witnessed by experience the hardships that aging individuals face on a daily basis and saw a wonderful potential to help them. Her grandmother and grandfather's struggles as they grew older also inspired her to believe that older people shouldn't have to suffer if they receive the assistance they require. Recognizing that caring for the elderly can have a negative impact on a person's life and family she collected a group of people that share her vision, passion and enthusiasm. As a group, they understood the concept of aging in place. This is that as our loved ones age, they will stay in their own home. The comfort and familiarity is a great benefit to their health and well-being. People want to stay in the place of their greatest memories.
