Ignoring out feelings doesn’t mean those feelings will go away. At various Lings within the lifespan, there may have not been a capacity to meet the intensity of certain experiences as we quite literally are hardwired for connection. If those connections aren’t safe, we learn to place our experience on the back burner.

Leave it to the full moon to draw forth the deepest undercurrent for processing and metabolizing.

If you’re noticing amplified dreams or feelings, it’s not a bad thing. It means there’s an emergent capacity to feel your feelings for processing and integration.

Jung spoke to the anima, animus (male and female) aspects and qualities within us. Shedding the gender norms and expectations of what it means to be male and female through societal constructs, there’s an energetic quality associated with each. Taking a moment to pause and I introspect for a moment if possible, what do you notice about your connection to masculine and feminine qualities?

Without judgment, what does you notice about your relationship to each quality within? Tracking some of the narratives and feelings associated? What comes up for you as you explore this experience?

Winnicotts theory explained the Mother’s gaze plays a crucial role in the infant’s development by acting as a mirror, reflecting the infant’s developing sense of self. This “mirror-role” of the mother’s eyes helps the infant feel real and alive, contributing to the formation of a stable sense of self.

How do you see children receiving their developmental needs when Mothers are feeling distressed, anxious, depressed or overwhelmed?

The cultural tone for how mothers are treated directly correlates to a child’s sense of well-being. How does this set up our future generations and collective shared spaces?

Fortunately the brain is malleable. We are always learning, growing and evolving but not without great intention, practical resources and time. The defensive structures that step in to protect such fragility may take time to stand down and result in prolonging healing. Defensive rolls serve to protect and they may also be limiting.

The cultural tone and narrative towards women and primary caregivers must be considered which not only impact an overall sense of well-being but directly impact our future generations. Please proceed with compassion and care to the best of your abilities during such a vulnerable stage of life 🍊
