Email: [email protected] Transform SF is San Francisco’s HIV testing initiative for the Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Community of San Francisco. Funded by the San Francisco Department of Public Health, it is a collaborative composed of the San Francisco Community Health Center, El/La Para TransLatinas and Instituto Familiar de la Raza. It is our unified mission to provide free HIV prevention tools like testing to those who have a higher risk for HIV, particularly TransWomen of Color, so that we are aware of our HIV status and have access to healthcare that respects who we are. We stand proudly as the first ever incentivized testing program for the Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Community in San Francisco. With some communities facing HIV positivity rates, the need to get tested has become increasingly important. TransformSF provides multiple pathways to HIV testing, social support, counseling, and referrals within San Francisco. There is no better time to step up and be counted!

Transform SF is San Francisco's HIV Testing Initiative dedicated for the Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Community. Research states that Transgender Folx, particularly TransWomen of Color are 49 times higher to likely to be infected with HIV. Participants are required to complete a behavioral risk assessment survey. We request that you complete at least two HIV tests with us, six months apart. After receiving your first test, you will receive a $20.00 VISA gift card. We ask that you return in six months to complete your second HIV test, where you will receive another $20.00 VISA gift card. Please note that you are not limited to as to how many times you can get tested with us, however, gift cards can only be received every six months. Data collected will be useful to provide a better landscape of HIV prevalence in the Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Community and help identify services that the community needs and deserves.

Thank you Instituto Familiar de la Raza for making this statement in support of all these acts of violence towards Asian American and Pacific Islanders:

From Instituto Familiar de la Raza....

It is imperative to IFR that we firmly and unequivocally stand in solidarity with the AAPI community in light of the recent murder of eight individuals in Atlanta. These killings follow weeks of physical and verbal attacks on Asians and Pacific Islanders throughout the country.

One of IFR’s philosophical pillars is in lak’ech - you are my other self. We have embraced this tenet as it reflects the profound connection and interdependence that we have to each other. Our collective health and well-being is a community responsibility.

We know the many stereotypes, slurs and hateful acts of violence against the AAPI community are manifestations of racism that have been spreading throughout the country. They harm all of our communities. The responsibility to end them belongs to all of us. A peaceful and just society cant exist until the racists systems that perpetuate hate and harm are dismantled.

To our AAPI brothers and sisters:
We at IFR reaffirm our solidarity with your communities.

We mourn the tremendous and unnecessary losses, injuries and insults you have experienced.

We are angry that you have been made to fear for your safety and have faced such inhuman disregard and hostility.

We condemn the racism and violence targeted against you.

We are with you.

In lak’ech.

With love and solidarity,
Gloria Romero
Executive Director

Last Friday, we provided rapid HIV testing at El/La Para TransLatinas' monthly COVID-19 Relief event in commemoration of National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD).

It was honor to be invited to this event where we able to provide HIV status awareness and $20 VISA gift cards alongside the generous relief that El/La Para TransLatinas provides for their clients.

It had been awhile since we've been out in the field providing our HIV prevention services so our team was thrilled to be there. El/La Para TransLatinas was so prepared, making sure all safety precautions were being followed throughout the event.

We are looking forward to the next event, El/La Para TransLatinas!

If you or someone you know is interested in HIV Testing, STD Screenings, and PrEP Navigation, please give us a call at (415)292-3400 or email us at [email protected]. You may also visit our website at SFCommunityHealth.org.

As Pride month comes to a close, let's not forget that today is for National Day of LGBTQ Giving with Give OUT Day. Give OUT Day is large network of LGBTQ organizations who have come together to set a platform to fundraise for the month. This year we held a strong campaign put on by our Board President Mario Choi and Board Treasure Ben Plumbley who raised over $900 for us during the month. We also have our dear supported Michael Fullam who is raising funds the SFCC! This goes a long way in helping support our programs and services especially while combating COVID-19 in our neighborhoods!
